Guidance, Strength, and Breakthrough in a Challenging Season

Sluyfield

Disciple of Prayer
Hi everyone, I’m asking for prayers during a really heavy and uncertain season in my life. I recently failed an important exam that I needed to pass in order to graduate with my bachelor’s degree this August. I’ve been trying to find another course to fulfill the requirement, but finances are incredibly tight right now, and I’m from a low-income family. I feel stressed, defeated, and lost—but I’m holding on and trusting that God can still make a way.

Please pray for:
  • A clear and affordable path to graduate this summer. I’m trying everything I can to find a solution.
  • My job, which I just started recently. I’m grateful for it and want to continue growing and doing well there.
  • My upcoming Master’s program in Biology at ### this fall. Pray that I can enter it with peace, not chaos or stress.
  • Protection and provision for my family—especially my disabled father and my two younger sisters who are also in college. They mean the world to me, and I just want to make life better for all of us.
  • My mental and spiritual health. I've been battling feelings of shame, failure, and isolation. I want to use this trial to grow closer to God and break free from the sins and habits I’ve fallen into—especially lust and self-sabotage.
  • My role in the sport of Quadball (real-life Quidditch)—it’s been a passion of mine, but I’ve been struggling with comparison and discouragement. I want to grow into the player I believe I can be.
  • My social life—I’ve been working on detoxing from things like dating apps and seeking validation. I want to be surrounded by real friendships and meaningful connections, not distractions.
  • And above all, please pray that I stay grounded in God through this storm. He’s brought me through so much already. Earlier this summer, I was facing potential homelessness and joblessness—but He provided. I know He can do it again.
I just want to step into the next chapter of my life whole, healed, and walking with Jesus.
Thank you so much to anyone who takes the time to lift this up. I believe your prayers matter. 🙏

We are truly sorry to hear about the challenges you are facing, but we are encouraged by your faith and trust in God's ability to make a way. Let us pray together and seek God's will for your life.

Firstly, we want to remind you that God is faithful, and He has promised to provide a way out of temptations and trials (1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB). We pray that God will reveal a clear and affordable path for you to graduate this summer. We ask for His wisdom and guidance as you seek solutions to fulfill your requirements. We are reminded of 1 Corinthians 1:30-31 where the Apostle Paul wrote that God is the source of all wisdom and we pray that God will give you the wisdom you need to navigate these challenges.

We also pray for your new job, that God will give you the grace to grow and excel in it. We ask for His favor upon you, that you will find success and fulfillment in your work. Remember that whatever you do, do it as service to the Lord (Colossians 3:23 WEB).

As you prepare to enter your Master's program, we pray for God's peace to surround you. We ask that He would calm any chaos or stress, and that He would provide for all your needs. We pray that God's word would continually fill your mind and bring peace to your heart (Philippians 4:6-7 WEB).

We lift up your family before the Lord, asking for His protection and provision. We pray especially for your disabled father and your two younger sisters. We ask that God would meet all your needs according to His riches in glory (Philippians 4:19 WEB).

We also pray for your mental and spiritual health. We ask that God would break the chains of shame, failure, and isolation. We pray that you would find freedom from the sins and habits that have held you back, and that you would grow closer to God through this trial. We will pray this in Jesus name, because we believe that we can only approach God in the name of Jesus Christ. But first, we remind you that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1 WEB).

We pray for your role in Quadball, that God would help you overcome comparison and discouragement. We ask that He would help you grow into the player you believe you can be. We will pray that you will pursue excellence in your sport because we are reminded that whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, we should think about these things (Philippians 4:8 WEB).

We pray for your social life, that God would surround you with real friendships and meaningful connections. We ask that He would help you detox from things that do not honor Him. We pray that you would find your validation in Christ alone. We pray that you will pursue healthy Christian relationships that can lead to Christian marriage We remind you of 2 Corinthians 6:14 where the Apostle Paul wrote that we should not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. We should seek a spouse that would be our spiritual equal.

Above all, we pray that you stay grounded in God through this storm. We ask that He would strengthen your faith and increase your trust in Him. We pray that you would walk closely with Jesus, and that He would lead you into the next chapter of your life whole, healed, and redeemed.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, we lift up this dear one to You. We ask for Your guidance, provision, and strength on their behalf. We pray that You would make a way where there seems to be no way. We ask that You would calm their fears, quiet their anxieties, and give them Your perfect peace. We pray that You would surround them with Your love, and that You would draw them ever closer to You. We ask that You would help them to grow and excel in all areas of their life. We pray for their family, that You would meet all their needs. We ask for Your healing and restoration. We pray that You would help them to walk closely with You, and that You would lead them into the next chapter of their life whole, healed, and redeemed, in Jesus Christ's name.

Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
