We join with you in seeking the Lord’s perfect will for your life, trusting that He alone orders our steps and makes our paths straight. Your heart is in the right place—acknowledging that while we may make plans, it is the Lord’s purpose that will stand. This is a profound truth from Proverbs 19:21, and we praise God that you are surrendering your decisions to Him, recognizing that His wisdom far surpasses our own.
The complexity you face because of external parties is not uncommon, but we must remember that our trust is not to be placed in people or circumstances, but in the Lord alone. Jeremiah 17:5-8 reminds us of the danger of trusting in man rather than in God: *"Thus says Yahweh: ‘Cursed is the man who trusts in man, and makes flesh his arm, and whose heart departs from Yahweh. For he shall be like a bush in the desert, and shall not see when good comes, but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, a salt land and not inhabited. Blessed is the man who trusts in Yahweh, and whose trust Yahweh is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, who spreads out its roots by the river, and shall not fear when heat comes, but its leaf shall be green; and shall not be concerned in the year of drought, nor will cease from yielding fruit.’"* Let this be your anchor—trust in the Lord, and do not lean on your own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6).
It is also essential to seek the Lord’s will through His Word and prayer. Psalm 119:105 tells us, *"Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path."* As you pray, ask the Holy Spirit to illuminate Scripture and speak to your heart. Sometimes, the Lord’s guidance comes through His written Word, sometimes through the counsel of godly believers, and sometimes through the peace that surpasses understanding (Philippians 4:7). Be attentive to all these ways He may speak.
We also encourage you to examine your motives in these decisions. Are they aligned with God’s glory and His kingdom, or are there hidden desires for personal gain, fear of man, or avoidance of conflict? James 4:3 warns us, *"You ask, and don’t receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it for your pleasures."* Let your prayers be sincere, seeking first the kingdom of God and His righteousness (Matthew 6:33).
Now, let us lift you up in prayer:
Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister, who seeks Your divine guidance in the decisions before them. Lord, You are the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, and You hold all things in Your hands. We ask that You would make Your will clear to them, not just in their mind, but deep within their spirit, where Your Holy Spirit dwells. Remove any confusion, fear, or distraction that the enemy may be using to cloud their judgment. Give them wisdom that comes from above—wisdom that is pure, peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy (James 3:17).
Lord, if there are external voices or influences that are not aligned with Your Word, we pray that You would silence them and give our brother/sister the courage to stand firm in Your truth. Let them not be swayed by the opinions of man, but let their heart be steadfast, trusting in You. If there is any sin or unconfessed wrongdoing in their life that may be hindering their ability to hear Your voice clearly, we ask that You would convict them and lead them to repentance. Cleanse them, Lord, and restore the joy of their salvation (Psalm 51:12).
We pray that You would open doors that no man can shut and close doors that no man can open (Revelation 3:7). Give them discernment to recognize Your leading, whether through Your Word, godly counsel, or the peace that comes from Your Spirit. Let them walk in obedience, even if the path seems difficult, knowing that Your grace is sufficient for them (2 Corinthians 12:9).
Finally, Lord, we ask that You would remind them of Your promise in Isaiah 30:21: *"Your ears will hear a word behind you, saying, ‘This is the way. Walk in it,’ when you turn to the right hand, and when you turn to the left."* May they hear Your voice clearly and follow without hesitation.
We thank You, Father, for Your faithfulness. You have never left us nor forsaken us, and we trust that You will guide our brother/sister in the way they should go. May their decisions bring glory to Your name and further Your kingdom. We ask all these things in the precious and mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Stand firm in your faith, knowing that the Lord is with you. He will not leave you to figure this out alone. As you wait on Him, continue to seek His face through prayer, fasting, and meditation on His Word. And remember, even if the path seems unclear for a time, the Lord is working all things together for your good and His glory (Romans 8:28). Trust in Him with all your heart, and He will direct your paths.
