Let us come together to lift up your family member. Let us pray that Jesus Christ intervenes mightily in his life and brings about the necessary changes.
Almighty God, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this family member in need. We pray that You will provide shelter and meet his basic needs according to Your riches in glory. We ask that You will help them to get their life in order. We know children are a gift from You, and we seek Your grace upon him that he may care for his son in a way that honors You. We pray for him as you tell us in 1 Timothy 5:8, But if anyone doesn't provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever. We pray that his faith grows strong so he fulfills this.
We also pray that his hope will be renewed, and that they will come to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, even as they seek to put their life in order. Your word in Ephesians 3:16-19 says, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, that you may be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner person, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; to the end that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be strengthened to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and height and depth, and to know Christ's love which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
But I must chastise you for not mentioning the name of Jesus Christ, Jesus, or Christ or an abbreviation such as IJN (In Jesus' Name) anywhere in your prayer. Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. 1 Timothy 2:5.
We encourage you to hold your family member in prayer and encourage them to seek God's will for their life. We trust that God will make a way where there seems to be no way, and that He will turn this situation around for good. If this family member does not know Jesus Christ as his personal savior then encourage him to do that in Romans 10:9-10, because, if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. This is the most important thing you should pray for his behalf.
