Beloved Servant
Please pray for myself and all my loved ones in our struggles with grief over loved ones who have passed away. Pray for anyone around the world struggling with this. Thank you.

We join with you in bringing this deep grief before the Lord, for you and your loved ones and for all around the world who are carrying the heavy burden of mourning those who have passed away. Grief is a profound sorrow and God does not ask us to bear it alone, He invites us to cast our cares upon Him and to receive His comfort.

The Scripture assures us of His nearness in this pain. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Psalm 34:18. Jesus Himself said Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. Matthew 5:4. He is the Father of mercies and God of all comfort who comforts us in all our affliction. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4. He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. Psalm 147:3. And we cling to the hope He has given us that He will wipe away from them every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more, neither will there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain, any more. The first things have passed away. Revelation 21:4.

We notice your request does not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to gently share why His name is so essential. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and find true comfort and salvation. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. To know His comfort in grief most fully is to know Him as Savior, believing that He died for our sins and rose again, and trusting Him for eternal life. For those who are in Christ, death is not the end, and we grieve with hope, knowing we will be reunited with loved ones who have died in Him.

We pray together now for you.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, lifting up this dear one and all their loved ones who are walking through grief, and we lift up every person around the world who is mourning today. Lord, You see every tear and know every ache of the heart. We ask You to draw near to each grieving heart, to wrap them in Your peace that surpasses understanding, and to heal the brokenhearted. Comfort them with Your presence, remind them of Your promises, and give them strength for each day. Help them to cast their sorrow upon You and to find rest in Your unfailing love. For any who do not yet know Jesus, we pray You would draw them to Him, that they may receive forgiveness, salvation, and the blessed hope of eternal life. Sustain all who mourn and let them feel Your arms of love holding them, until mourning is turned to joy in Your presence. We ask this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and comfort, amen.

We encourage you to continue to bring your grief to the Lord in prayer, to share your sorrow with trusted believers, and to immerse yourself in His Word. He is near, He cares deeply, and He will carry you through this valley. Lean on Him day by day, and allow His comfort to minister to you and through you to others who also mourn.

We were moved by your request to lift not only your own ache but the ache of those around you and so many others around the world who are grieving. Thank you for bringing that tenderness before the Lord.

Grief can feel lonely even when many are grieving together, because each of us carries it differently. What overwhelms one person on one day may come quietly to another. There is no right way to move through it, and the waves often do not follow a schedule. Knowing that can take some pressure off when you or someone you love is not grieving the same way.

One of the gentlest helps in this season is simply the presence of caring people. Sitting together, sharing a meal, remembering a story or a name out loud, letting tears or quiet be there without needing to fix it, all of that matters more than finding perfect words.

If it would help, you might choose one simple way to honor your loved ones this week, perhaps lighting a candle at dinner, looking through a few photos together, or inviting one trusted friend or pastor to hear how you are really doing. You do not have to carry this alone.

Father, we lift our friend and their loved ones to You, and every person across the world who is mourning today. Draw near with Your comfort, hold them in their sorrow, and give them steady companions for the road ahead. In Jesus' name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We have heard your burden and we carry it with you to the throne of grace. There is no grief that escapes the eye of our compassionate Father, and He knows what it is to see His people robed in the habiliments of mourning.

Your comfort must be the fact that He loves you even then. When the heart aches under loss, faith is a precious thing, for it enables us to believe our God and to endure and to surmount all trouble. The Lord saith, Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, and He means that word for such as you, with a tearful eye and an aching heart. He has not left you to mourn without God to wipe every tear from your eye.

May you prove what the Psalmist proved, This is my comfort in my affliction, for Thy word hath quickened me. It is not the letter alone, but the Spirit breathing through the Word that quickens and so comforts. The external comfort of the Christian is the Word of God, and the internal comfort is the life which that Word imparts. There you will find that glittering sentence again, He loved me and gave Himself for me, and that love which stoops from the highest heaven to lift the sorrowful out of the pit of distraction.

We pray now for you and for all your loved ones who sorrow with you, and for every soul around the world who walks this same valley. Now our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, comfort your hearts and stablish you in every good word and work. May He press this comfort to your bosom, that you may say, This is my comfort, not yesterday only but at this present time.

May the God who rules on high, our Father and our love, give you to know His everlasting love, to hear His voice saying, I have loved thee with an everlasting love, and to look to Christ nailed to the cross, who bore our sorrows and opened the way to eternal life for all who trust in Him alone. And may He in His own time cause you to forget your misery as waters that pass away, or rather to remember it only as the proof that His grace sustained you.

We ask the Lord to keep you in great prayer, to pour your soul out before Him who will not laugh at your woes nor tell them out again, and to establish you in the hope of the resurrection, where those who sleep in Jesus shall be with Him forever. Amen.

Your grief has been heard and we join you in bringing it before the Lord who sees every tear and knows every sorrow.

There is no shame in weeping when those we love have departed. Sorrow in such times is deep and the wound can feel beyond comfort, and it is right to lament and to bring that pain openly to God. At the same time we do not grieve as those without hope. For those who have fallen asleep in Christ, we have the promise of life which is in Jesus Christ, where grief and mourning flee away and where all who are in Christ shall rise. Our hope is not only in this life, for hope that is seen is not hope, but in the eternal life He has promised, where we shall be ever with the Lord.

We pray for you and for all your loved ones who carry this burden, and for everyone around the world who is struggling under the weight of bereavement.

We ask the Father of mercies to comfort you with His own comfort, to steady your heart when waves of loss and affliction press upon you, and to found you upon the rock of His word which stands firm against every trial. May He give you peace that guards your heart, strength for each day, and the assurance that nothing can separate you from His love in Christ.

In your grief, dive into the Scriptures as into a chest of medicines. Keep the Gospels, the Psalms, the Apostolic Epistles and the Acts constantly before you, not only glancing into them but taking them wholly to you and keeping them in your mind. There you will find comfort for loss and for bereavement, and the timely reminder of the resurrection and the glory to come.

May the Lord heal the brokenhearted, wipe away tears, and fill your sorrow with the steady hope of His presence both now and in the life to come. We continue to pray that He will sustain you and all who mourn until that day when He makes all things new. Amen.

Thank you for sharing this burden so honestly. I am praying for you and for your loved ones, and for all who around the world are carrying the sorrow of losing someone dear.

Scripture gives us a beautiful name for God in times like this. He is the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort. That means comfort is not just something He gives, it is part of who He is. He comforts those who mourn, those who are cast down and discouraged, those who feel overwhelmed by grief.

One of the reasons God comforts us in our tribulation is so that having received His comfort ourselves, we can then share that same comfort with others who are hurting. When you have walked through deep sorrow and known the Lord to meet you there, you are able to come alongside someone else with a comfort that is real because you have experienced His faithfulness.

You may feel at times that the grief is heavier than you can bear. Job felt that way and said his sorrow, if weighed, would be heavier than the sand of the sea. Friends came to sit with him, but they did not know how to comfort him well. That reminds us that human comfort can be limited, but God's comfort is not. He sees the depth of the loss and He draws near.

The comfort He gives often comes as we lift our eyes from the weight of the problem itself and look to Him. When our sorrow fills our whole field of vision we lose perspective and the burden feels overwhelming. When we turn to the Lord, He stands by us even in the darkest hours. The apostle Paul knew this. He spoke of being troubled on every side, with conflicts without and fears within, and yet God, who comforts those who are cast down, comforted him. In another dark night, tossed in a storm for many days, the Lord stood by Paul to strengthen and assure him. He will stand by you in the same way.

Jesus showed this tender compassion when He came to Jairus, whose daughter had died. He saw the hopeless grief of that father and spoke words of hope, saying do not be afraid, only believe. He understands the tears and the ache that come with death.

You can also find steady comfort in the Word of God. It is our hope when hope feels gone, and it gives life in affliction. When the heart is in turmoil, the promises of God and His merciful kindness bring rest. You can bring your sorrow to Him in prayer and say, Lord, I do not understand, but I trust Your mercy and Your faithfulness.

My prayer for you is this. Father, in the name of Jesus, I lift up this dear one and every loved one who is grieving, and all around the world who know this same pain. Show Yourself as the God of all comfort to each heart that mourns. Let Your merciful kindness be their comfort. Give them hope through Your Word, strength for each day, and the assurance that You are near and will carry them through this sorrow. Bring Your peace that goes beyond understanding, and use the comfort they receive from You to one day comfort others. Amen.
