Grief/Feeling Like Having a Nervous Breakdown

Disciple of Prayer
Please pray for me for comfort and strength and clarity. I'm having an extremely rough time with my marriage situation that I've requested prayer about and other things compounding, and I feel like collapsing.

We lift you up before the Father in this moment of deep sorrow and overwhelming distress, knowing that He is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Your pain is not unseen, and your cry has reached the throne of grace, where Jesus intercedes for you even now. The weight of marital strife, compounded by life’s pressures, can feel unbearable, but we remind you that the Lord is your strength and your shield—your very present help in trouble.

The Scriptures assure us in **Psalm 34:18**, *"Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who are crushed in spirit."* And again in **Matthew 11:28**, Jesus calls to you, saying, *"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest."* He does not promise the absence of trials, but He does promise His presence, His peace that surpasses understanding, and His strength to sustain you. You are not meant to carry this alone—cast your burdens upon Him, for He cares for you (**1 Peter 5:7**).

We also urge you to cling to the truth of **2 Corinthians 12:9**, where the Lord tells Paul, *"My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness."* Your weakness is not a failure; it is an opportunity for Christ’s power to be displayed in your life. Even when you feel like collapsing, He is holding you up. He is the God who parts the Red Sea, who raises the dead, and who brings beauty from ashes. Trust that He is working even now, though you may not yet see the fruit of it.

As for your marriage, we continue to pray for reconciliation and restoration if it aligns with God’s will. Marriage is a covenant before the Lord, and He despises divorce (**Malachi 2:16**). If there has been sin—whether unforgiveness, bitterness, or unfaithfulness—we urge you to seek repentance and forgiveness, for these are the pathways to healing. **Ephesians 4:31-32** commands, *"Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you."* If your spouse is unwilling to walk in obedience, you must still choose to honor the Lord in your responses, trusting Him to fight your battles.

If there are areas in your life where you have not surrendered fully to Christ—perhaps anger, resentment, or fear—we lovingly rebuke you to lay them at His feet. **James 4:7** tells us, *"Be subject therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you."* You cannot afford to give the enemy a foothold in this season. Fill your mind with Scripture, worship even when you don’t feel like it, and surround yourself with believers who can speak life into you.

We also sense the Lord prompting us to ask: Have you been praying *in the name of Jesus*? There is no other name under heaven by which we are saved, and it is only through Christ that we have access to the Father (**John 14:6, Ephesians 2:18**). If you’ve been praying vague or general prayers, we encourage you to boldly approach the throne in Jesus’ name, for He is your advocate and your hope.

**Our Prayer for You:**

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of Your beloved child, who is weary, broken, and on the verge of despair. Lord, You see the tears they’ve cried in secret, the sleepless nights, and the weight of this marriage that feels too heavy to bear. We ask You to wrap them in Your arms of comfort, to speak peace over their storm, and to renew their strength like the eagle’s (**Isaiah 40:31**).

Lord, if there is sin in their heart—bitterness, fear, or unbelief—convict them by Your Spirit and lead them to repentance. If their spouse has hardened their heart, soften it, O God. Bring reconciliation where it is Your will, and if not, grant this dear one the grace to walk in obedience and trust You for their future. Remind them that You are their Husband, their Provider, and their Redeemer (**Isaiah 54:5**).

Father, we rebuke the spirit of anxiety and breakdown trying to overtake them. You have not given them a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (**2 Timothy 1:7**). Fill them with Your supernatural peace that guards their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (**Philippians 4:7**). Give them clarity to make godly decisions, wisdom to know Your voice, and the courage to take the next right step.

Lord, if they have been praying without invoking the name of Jesus, open their eyes to the truth that salvation, healing, and breakthrough come through Him alone. May they cry out to You in His mighty name, knowing that You hear and answer.

We declare that this season of grief will not destroy them, but will instead drive them deeper into Your presence. You are making all things new (**Revelation 21:5**), and we trust You to restore what the locusts have eaten (**Joel 2:25**). In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We're here with you, dear friend, in this storm of grief and overwhelm. It's like you're holding onto a rope in a raging sea, and we're on the shore, pulling with all our might to keep you from being swept away. We see you, and we're not letting go.

You know, sometimes it feels like God is quiet, like He's not answering our prayers. But remember the story of Elijah? He was hiding in a cave, feeling all alone and afraid, when God spoke to him in a still, small voice. Maybe God isn't silent; maybe it's just that we're expecting thunder when He's whispering.

We want to remind you of something Paul said in Romans 5:3-4. He said, "Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope." You're in a tough spot, but God is using it to shape you, to make you more like Jesus.

We're praying for you, that God would give you the strength to hold on a little longer, that He would speak peace over your heart, and that He would give you clarity to see the next step He wants you to take. We're also praying for your marriage, that God would move in the hearts of both you and your spouse, bringing healing and restoration if it's His will.

And remember, you don't have to be strong all the time. It's okay to lean on us, on the church, on your friends. We're here to support you, just as the disciples supported Jesus in His time of need.

Keep holding on, dear friend. We're right here with you, pulling you closer to the shore. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
