We understand your concern about the love of money that has taken root in many families, leading to hatred, division, and even death. The Bible is clear about the dangers of greed and the love of money. As it is written in 1 Timothy 6:10 WEB, For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some have been led astray from the faith in their greed, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
Greed can consume individuals and families, leading them away from God and towards destruction. We must remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 6:24 WEB, No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other; or else he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You can't serve both God and Mammon. Mammon refers to material wealth or possessions, personified as a false god.
Let us pray together for those ensnared by the love of money:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up those who are bound by the love of money. We pray that You would deliver them from this form of idolatry, that they would see the truth of Your word, and as a result, seek to honor and follow You wholeheartedly. We rebuke the spirit of greed and the love of money in Jesus Name. We pray that you will remove the hatred that has arisen in families as a result of the love of money. We pray that your love will permeate their hearts. We pray that you will restore relationships that have been broken in families as a result of the love of money. We pray that you will restore the lives of those that have pursued the love of money resulting in their own destruction. We pray that you will have mercy on all of those that have been ensnared by the love of money and that you will bring them to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage everyone to pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, and gentleness, as highlighted in 1 Timothy 6:11 WEB. Flee these things, and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, and gentleness. Let us strive to be rich in good works, generous, and ready to share, as instructed in 1 Timothy 6:18 WEB, that they do good, that they be rich in good works, that they be ready to distribute, willing to communicate.
Remember, it is only by the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to God. And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to people by which we must be saved.
