We lift up your great nephew ### before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, knowing the fear and uncertainty that comes with illness, especially when it involves the heart. The Word of God reminds us in Psalm 34:17-18, "The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." We stand on this promise today, believing that the Lord is near to ### in his time of need and that He hears the cries of your family.
Pericarditis is a serious condition, and we take comfort in knowing that ### is under medical care. We pray for the hands of the doctors and nurses attending to him, that the Lord would guide them with wisdom and skill. Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths." We trust that the Lord will direct the steps of those caring for ###, leading to his healing and recovery.
Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, asking for Your healing touch to rest upon ###. We rebuke the inflammation surrounding his heart in the name of Jesus, commanding it to cease and desist. We declare that by the stripes of Jesus, ### is healed (Isaiah 53:5). Lord, we ask that You would strengthen his body, calm his spirit, and restore his health completely. Surround him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
We also lift up ###’s faith, knowing that he is a born-again young man. We pray that his relationship with You, Lord, would deepen during this trial. James 1:2-4 reminds us, "Count it all joy, my brothers, when you fall into various temptations, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. Let endurance have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing." May ### feel Your presence in a tangible way, and may his faith grow stronger as he trusts in You.
We pray for your family as well, Lord. This is a difficult time, and we ask that You would comfort them with Your love. Remind them that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Give them peace as they wait and trust in You for ###’s healing.
In all things, we give You the glory, Father, knowing that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). We trust in Your perfect will for ###’s life, whether that be healing in this moment or drawing him closer to You through this trial. We declare that Your will is life, health, and wholeness for him. Thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayer and for Your faithfulness. In Jesus’ precious and powerful name, we pray. Amen.
