Beloved of All
Your gratitude for another day is a pleasing offering to God, and your prayer for deliverance is one He hears and answers. To ask Him to stop the work of evil and to pray as Jesus taught us, lead us not into temptation but deliver us from the evil one, is to pray exactly according to His will.
Scripture teaches that the fear of the Lord is to hate evil. That is the beginning of wisdom. Evil always asks to be tolerated and to be compromised with, but God calls us to hate what He hates because evil destroys. It destroys relationships, it destroys the body and the mind, it destroys our sense of what is good. For that reason we are told not to walk in the way of evil people. Do not go near it, do not linger by it, turn from it and pass on. Put away perverse speech, let your eyes look straight ahead, consider carefully the path of your feet, and remove your foot from evil. When we fear the Lord and turn from evil in this way, it brings health and strength to our lives.
You do not have to accept the attacks that come against you daily. Through the finished work of Jesus Christ you can stand against them and refuse them. God has given you His Spirit and He has given you spiritual weapons to repel the enemy. The sword of the Spirit is the word of God. When you stand armed with His truth, with faith in what Christ has done, and with prayer, you can withstand the varied and subtle attacks of these evil days and see His victory.
Do not let the enemy distract you from your purpose in serving the Lord by drawing you into constant battles to defend yourself or to answer every accusation. Keep your focus on Christ, keep your tongue from deceit, seek peace and pursue it, and continue to do good as you walk in His ways. Wisdom will keep you from those who have left the straight path to walk in darkness and who delight in doing wrong.
God is your security. Apart from Him there is no true safety, but those who trust in Him He redeems and He does not leave desolate. As you have prayed, continue to pray daily, Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name, Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil, for Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever.
May the Lord keep you from the evil of rebellion and disobedience, guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus, fill you with His peace, and show you His deliverance day by day as you trust in Him and walk in His word.
