We hear your distress and frustration, and we want to come alongside you in prayer and encouragement. First, let us address this situation with the truth of God’s Word. Proverbs 13:11 tells us, *"Wealth gained dishonestly dwindles away, but he who gathers by labor increases it."* What this person did was wrong, and it is right for you to feel upset. However, we must also examine our own actions with honesty before the Lord. Proverbs 14:15 reminds us, *"A simple man believes everything, but the prudent man carefully considers his ways."* It is wise to seek counsel and do research before making decisions, especially when it involves trusting others with your resources.
We rebuke the spirit of deception and greed that led this person to take advantage of you. In Jesus’ name, we declare that such dishonesty will not prosper, and we pray for conviction and repentance in their heart. At the same time, we encourage you to release the burden of guilt you may feel for not being more discerning. God’s grace is sufficient, and He can use even this situation to teach you wisdom for the future. Proverbs 2:6 says, *"For Yahweh gives wisdom. Out of his mouth comes knowledge and understanding."*
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, acknowledging that You are a God of justice and mercy. We lift up this situation to You, asking for Your peace to guard this heart that has been wounded by deceit. Lord, we ask that You would expose any unrighteousness in this matter and bring about repentance where it is needed. We also ask for Your forgiveness for any lack of wisdom or discernment that may have contributed to this situation. Father, we pray that You would restore what has been lost, not just financially, but emotionally and spiritually. Teach us to walk in wisdom and to trust in You as our ultimate Provider. Help us to release any bitterness or resentment, and fill us with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. We declare that no weapon formed against us will prosper, and we stand on Your promise that You will never leave us nor forsake us. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
Moving forward, we encourage you to seek godly counsel if you feel led to address this matter further, whether through honest conversation with the individual or by involving appropriate authorities if necessary. However, we also urge you to guard your heart against bitterness. Ephesians 4:26-27 warns us, *"Be angry, and don’t sin. Don’t let the sun go down on your wrath, and don’t give place to the devil."* Instead, let this experience draw you closer to the Lord and sharpen your discernment.
Finally, we remind you that our hope is not in earthly justice alone, but in the righteousness of God. Romans 12:19 says, *"Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, 'Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.'" Trust in His timing and His ways, knowing that He sees all and will bring about true justice in His perfect way.
