Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

When you set your heart on a fully funded study abroad, you see only the visible opportunity. But consider what kind of blessing you truly desire. Are not spiritual blessings far greater than carnal advantage? The Lord has said, “In the world you have tribulation,” precisely to lead us away from clinging to earthly things and toward treasures that do not perish. This very resistance from your ### may be such a tribulation, permitted to strengthen your faith. Do not give way to faintheartedness, for that comes from not believing. Instead, draw near to God with a true heart, without hypocrisy, and fully trust that He orders all for your good.

The one who opposes your desire may seem to injure you, yet truly he injures himself more. For envy and fear are a sword that wounds the one who holds them, while God exalts the one who endures without retaliation. If you bear this refusal with patience, honoring your ### even in his error, love will become your safeguard. And who knows? God may restore the heart of your ### to you, turning his mind to what is good for your soul, if you walk in meekness and prayer.

But even if the permission does not come, do not think your blessing is lost. Remember Jacob: he obtained the blessing, yet his days were filled with labor, plots, and fear, while his brother lived securely. The true fulfillment was not in earthly prosperity but in the things to come. The real perfection of a Christian is not a European degree; it is the clear-eyed faith that recognizes God’s hand in every circumstance. What does it profit to have a beautifully formed lamp if it gives no light? Likewise, the excellence of your life is not in outward success but in virtue and steadfast trust.

Still, I will join you in prayer that your ###’s heart be softened, if this is for your spiritual profit. But be watchful, and use this present trial to display patience, obedience, and love. Let your conduct be such that when I hear of you, I find you in the fullness of blessing, not merely of money or education, but of every good deed that adorns the Gospel.

It is understandable to feel torn when a door opens so clearly and yet the person whose blessing you long for stands against it. That tension sits heavy, but take heart: the Father you trust is the one who holds every heart in his hand, and he is able to soften what seems immovable.

Remember how God worked with Pharaoh. At times Pharaoh hardened his own heart, resisting what God had declared. Yet even then, God’s purpose marched forward. When the time came, the very man who refused to let them go drove them out gladly. A father’s reluctance is not always rejection; sometimes it is fear, a protective love that doesn’t yet see what God is doing. Your earthly father may be thinking of his own anxieties about your future, but the Lord knows the plans he has for you.

Think of Judah standing before Joseph, pleading for Benjamin, willing to become the substitute for his brother so their father would not be consumed with sorrow. That intercession came from a place of love and responsibility. In your prayers, you are not just asking for your own way; you are asking for your father’s heart to be freed from worry so he can release you with peace. God honors that kind of love.

Jesus taught us that our heavenly Father gives good gifts to his children. How much more will he give the Holy Spirit to those who ask? You can come directly to the Father with this, not through any other name or merit, but through Jesus, who revealed the Father’s heart. Ask for wisdom, as Solomon did. Ask for an understanding heart for your father, that he might discern the good that lies ahead. And trust that if this opportunity is from God, no compromise of “don’t go very far” can truly hinder what he ordains.

Your father’s heart is not beyond God’s reach. The Lord who turned Joseph’s captivity into leadership over Egypt can turn a father’s resistance into enthusiastic sending. He can replace fear with confidence. In the meantime, honor your father. Show him respect and patience, even as you pray. And let the peace of Christ rule in your heart, because the one who goes to prepare a place for you will not leave you as an orphan. He will guide your steps.

Let me pray with you now.

Lord, you see this child of yours standing at a crossroads. You opened a fully funded door for advanced study, and now a father’s heart is troubled. We ask you to soften that heart. Replace anxiety with a quiet trust in your provision. Give the father wisdom to see beyond his fears, and give this one patience and grace as they wait. Align their hearts so that the decision brings glory to you and peace to the family. May your will be done on earth as it is in heaven, and may the joy of walking in your plan replace every doubt. In Jesus’ name, amen.

We are so grateful you shared this burden with us and allowed us to stand beside you in prayer. Your courage in pursuing this opportunity is a testament to God’s calling on your life, and we have been lifting up your father’s heart daily, asking the Lord to soften it with His peace and wisdom. This is not just about a degree—it’s about God’s purpose unfolding in your life, and we trust He is working even when the path isn’t clear.

If your father’s heart has been touched and he has given his blessing, we would love to celebrate this victory with you! Please share a praise report so we can rejoice together in God’s faithfulness. If the situation remains unchanged, we encourage you to post this request again so we can continue praying with fresh fervor. The deadline for your program is near, and we refuse to let discouragement take root. We believe God is able to move mountains—even the mountain of a father’s fear.

Keep seeking Him with all your heart, knowing that He who began this good work in you will carry it to completion. We stand with you, believing for breakthrough, and we pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
