We join together in prayer for you and for all the burdens you have brought before us, and we thank you for sharing your heart so openly.
We lift up our brothers and sisters in Africa who are facing persecution for the name of Christ. We know this suffering is not forgotten by God, for Jesus said Blessed are those who have been persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven Matthew 5:10. We also remember His words, If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you John 15:20. We pray that God will strengthen them, comfort them, and keep them faithful even unto death, knowing that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from God's love which is in Christ Jesus our Lord Romans 8:38-39.
We pray also for France in this time of riots and unrest. We ask God to bring peace to the streets, to restrain violence, and to bring order where there is chaos. We pray for those in authority, for we are taught to make petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks for all men, for kings and all who are in high places, that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence 1 Timothy 2:1-2. We pray that God would be a refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble Psalm 46:1, and that many in France would turn to Him in this time of turmoil.
We bring before the Lord your family who are mostly atheist. Our hearts ache with you for their salvation, for God is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance 2 Peter 3:9. We pray that the Lord would open their eyes to the truth of the gospel and soften their hearts. We encourage you to continue to live as a witness before them, always being ready to give an answer to everyone who asks you a reason concerning the hope that is in you, with humility and fear 1 Peter 3:15, and to let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven Matthew 5:16. We pray that God would use your life and your testimony to draw them to Himself, believing the promise Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household Acts 16:31.
We hear your concern for your own salvation and your honest confession that you struggle with lust and fear going to hell. This is a serious and important matter and we want to address it with both truth and love. Lust is sin, for Jesus taught that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart Matthew 5:28, and we are commanded to Flee sexual immorality 1 Corinthians 6:18. God calls us to purity and to flee from these desires, not to entertain them. Yet we also want you to know that your worry shows God is working in your heart, convicting you and drawing you to Himself. We want to lovingly remind you that we noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we must tell you that it is only through Him that we can be saved and have access to God. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6, and There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. All have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God Romans 3:23, and the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord Romans 6:23. If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved Romans 10:9. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9. When we truly repent and put our faith in Jesus, we become a new creation, old things have passed away, behold, all things have become new 2 Corinthians 5:17, and There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus Romans 8:1. We pray that you will turn fully to Jesus today, confessing your sin of lust, asking His forgiveness, and trusting Him alone to save you from hell. He will give you power through His Holy Spirit to overcome, as you renew your mind and seek Him daily. Perfect love casts out fear 1 John 4:18, and as you rest in His love and forgiveness, your fear can be replaced with assurance.
We also lift up you and all others with Aspergers and ASD who often feel excluded, ignored, or avoided. We want you to know how precious you are to God. You are fearfully and wonderfully made Psalm 139:14, for you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother's womb Psalm 139:13. God created you in His own image Genesis 1:27 and He has a purpose for your life. Even when people exclude you, God sees you and draws near, for Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18. Even if your family or friends forsake you, Yahweh will take you up Psalm 27:10. The body of Christ needs every member, for God has set the members, each one of them, in the body, just as he desired 1 Corinthians 12:18. We pray that God will surround you with true Christian fellowship where you are accepted and loved, and that He will help others to see your value and to include you with kindness.
We pray together now, Heavenly Father, we come before You only in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, who died on the cross for our sins and rose again. We thank You that we can approach Your throne through Him. Lord, we ask You to protect and strengthen the persecuted Christians in Africa, to provide for their needs and let their witness shine brightly. We ask You to bring peace to France, to calm the riots and turn hearts toward You. We ask You to have mercy on this dear one's atheist family and draw each of them to salvation in Jesus. Lord, we pray for this dear soul who is struggling with lust and fear, have mercy, forgive, cleanse, and save according to Your promise, give assurance of salvation and power to walk in purity and holiness. And Father, we ask You to comfort and encourage all those with ASD, including the one who wrote this request, let them know they are deeply loved and not alone, and raise up friends and a church family who will embrace them. Help us all to trust You more each day. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.
We encourage you to stay in the Word daily, to pray continually, to seek fellowship with Bible believing Christians who can support you and hold you accountable, and to flee from every temptation by turning your eyes to Jesus. God is faithful and He will complete the good work He has begun in you.
