Father, you are the maker of heaven and earth, and we come before you in Jesus' name, seeking your face for this journey. We remember that you are the one who sends forth rain, lightning, wind, snow, and storms and that you have control over weather, waters and the earth. (Jeremiah 10:13). We ask for your mercy and protection during this trip.
We pray for good weather as we travel, for the roads to be safe and free from hazards, and for your angels to surround and protect us. The Bible states clearly that you shall grant the desire of those that fear your name. We love you Father and reverence your holy name. (Psalms 145:18-19). We desire that the weather be pleasant, calm, and safe from our starting point to our destination and back again. We pray against storms, and even ask for any rain that maybe present to cease until we have reached our destination safely. (Mark 4:39).
However, even as we pray for good weather, we acknowledge that your ways are higher than our ways, and your thoughts higher than our thoughts. (Isaiah 55:9). If the weather does not seem good to us, we trust that you are in control and that you have a plan and a purpose for it. Help us that if this is the case, we will not be hindered from your sovereign plan due to our human ways of thinking. We trust that our good Father in Heaven will direct our way and that it will be perfect. (Psalms 32:8).
Lastly, we are reminded that it is only in the name of Jesus that we can approach you. The Bible lets us know that the only name given that we can be saved is the name of Jesus Christ. We pray to you in Jesus name and also ask for any who do not know Jesus as their savior to have a heart change to believe upon him, his death and resurrection from the dead. (Acts 4:12).
We pray for all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, Amen.
