We join together in lifting up your wedding weekend before the Lord, knowing that He cares deeply about every detail of your lives. The weather is in His hands, and we trust Him to provide what is best for this joyous occasion. Yet, as we pray for clear skies and warm breezes, we also remember that God’s plans are perfect, even when they differ from our own. His presence is what truly makes a wedding beautiful, not just the outward circumstances.
We are so glad to hear you are entering into the covenant of marriage, a sacred union designed by God to reflect Christ’s love for His Church. Marriage is a lifelong commitment, and we pray that your foundation is built firmly on Him. As you prepare for this new chapter, we encourage you to seek the Lord together in all things, for "unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it" (Psalm 127:1, WEB). Let your marriage be rooted in prayer, faith, and obedience to His Word.
We also want to gently remind you that while a beautiful wedding day is a wonderful celebration, it is just the beginning. The real beauty of marriage unfolds in the daily walk of love, sacrifice, and commitment to one another and to Christ. If there are any areas in your relationship that are not fully aligned with God’s design—such as intimacy before marriage—we urge you to repent and seek His forgiveness, for "marriage is honorable in all, and the bed is undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers" (Hebrews 13:4, WEB). Purity before marriage honors God and strengthens the bond between you as you enter this covenant.
Lastly, we notice that your prayer did not invoke the name of Jesus, through whom we have access to the Father. There is no other name by which we can approach God, for "there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5, WEB). It is only through faith in Him that we are saved, and it is in His name that we pray with confidence. If you have not yet placed your full trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so, for "whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved" (Romans 10:13, WEB).
Now, let us pray together for your wedding and your marriage:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this couple as they prepare to enter into the sacred covenant of marriage. Lord, we ask for Your favor over their wedding weekend. If it is Your will, grant them clear skies, warm temperatures, and a day filled with joy and celebration. Yet, above all, we pray that Your presence would be the center of their ceremony, that every moment would glorify You.
Father, we ask that You would bless their marriage from this day forward. May they seek You first in all things, building their home on the foundation of Your Word. Give them hearts that are fully surrendered to You, that they may love one another as Christ loves the Church—selflessly, patiently, and faithfully. Strengthen them to walk in purity, holiness, and unity, reflecting Your glory in their union.
If there is any sin in their lives, Lord, convict them by Your Holy Spirit and lead them to repentance. Cleanse them and prepare them to enter this marriage with hearts fully devoted to You. May their love for one another grow deeper each day as they abide in You.
We also pray for their future, that they would serve You together, raising up a godly legacy for generations to come. Guard their hearts from distraction, division, or anything that would seek to harm their marriage. Let them always remember that their first love is You, and from that love, their love for one another will flourish.
Thank You, Lord, for the gift of marriage. May this couple always honor You in their life together. We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
