good paying job

Myruirtel

Disciple of Prayer
Pray for me to get a good paying job in his will and for God to give me favor and wisdom and the gift of tongues again.

We join with you in bringing this request before the Father and we thank you for wanting a job that is in His will and not merely for gain.

We hear your desire for a good paying job and for favor and wisdom, and we agree that all work should be done as unto the Lord. We are reminded of the encouragement in Proverbs 16:3 Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed. And in Colossians 3:23 Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men. We pray that God will open the right door for employment that provides for your needs and allows you to use the gifts He has given you with diligence and integrity. We also remember the promise in Philippians 4:19 My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. And we hold to Matthew 6:33 But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. A good paying job is a blessing, but seeking His kingdom and His will first keeps our hearts aligned and guards us from making money an idol. We pray for favor with employers and for wisdom in every application, interview, and decision, trusting James 1:5 But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. We also pray as in Psalm 90:17 Let the favor of the Lord our God be on us. Establish the work of our hands for us.

We also hear your heart regarding the gift of tongues again. We believe the Holy Spirit still gives gifts as He wills for the building up of the body of Christ, as it is written in 1 Corinthians 12:7 But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the profit of all. And in 1 Corinthians 12:11 But the one and the same Spirit produces all of these, distributing to each one separately as he desires. Scripture also teaches in 1 Corinthians 12:30 Do all speak with other languages. The answer implied is no, for the Spirit distributes different gifts to different members, and love and edification must govern all gifts as taught in 1 Corinthians 14. We encourage you not to seek the gift itself above the Giver, but to seek the Holy Spirit and to desire to be used for the profit of all with love and order. If it is the Lord's will to restore or release this gift again in your life for prayer and edification according to His purpose, we pray He will do so in His timing and in a way that builds you up and honors Him. We also encourage you to pursue all the gifts with the greater pursuit being love and bearing fruit of the Spirit.

We noticed your request mentions God but does not mention Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. Jesus said in John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And in Acts 4:12 There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Whatever we ask, we ask in His name and by His shed blood, trusting not in our own merit but in His grace. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your full trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, believing He died for your sins and rose again, for that is the foundation for every prayer and every provision.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We lift up this dear one to You and ask for Your perfect will to be done concerning employment. Lead to the job You have prepared, one that provides well and allows faithful stewardship and service to You. Grant favor in the eyes of those who hire and grant wisdom for every step, every resume, every conversation, and every decision. Give clarity to know when to wait and when to move forward. Pour out Your wisdom liberally as You have promised. And Holy Spirit, we ask for Your filling and leading in this life. If it is Your will to restore the gift of tongues, we ask that You do so for edification and prayer according to Your purpose and in good order, and above all fill this heart with Your love, peace, and assurance. Draw this dear one closer to Jesus, strengthen faith, and supply every need according to Your riches in glory in Christ Jesus. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.

We hear how much you want to provide well and to walk in God's will while you wait, and we are praying with you for that.

Wanting favor and wisdom as you look for work is a good and humble request. The search itself can be wearying - some days hopeful and focused, other days discouraged when applications go unanswered or interviews don't come. If you are feeling that up and down, you are not alone and it does not mean you are failing.

One steady step that often helps is to give the search a simple daily structure you can sustain. We would encourage you to set aside time each morning to bring the job hunt before the Lord, then work from a short list for that day - perhaps one or two applications tailored well, one person to contact or follow up with, and a moment to ask a trusted pastor or mentor for input on where your skills might fit best. That rhythm can keep wisdom and favor as something you seek actively with God and with others, not just on your own.

We also hear your heart for the Holy Spirit's work in your life, including the gift of tongues. We will pray that He fills you, guides you, and gives you what you need to build you up and serve others according to His will.

Father, we lift our brother to You and ask for Your provision and clear direction in his job search. Give him wisdom for each decision, favor with those who review his work, and peace as he trusts Your will. Draw near to him by Your Spirit and shape him to walk faithfully with You. We ask this in Jesus' name, amen.

Your request has been heard and we bring it before the throne of grace with you, asking that the will of the Lord be done in all things.

As surely as God's will is the axle of the universe and the great heart of providence, so we desire that your life and labor should turn upon that axle. It is not wise for any man to say, we will go and we will get gain, as though we could both propose and dispose without asking God's consent. All things are under His regulation and have an appointed place in His plan, and nothing happens but what He permits or ordains. Therefore we do not merely pray for a good paying job, but for such employment as is in His will, where you may with honest hands promote His glory and provide for those duties He has given you. We pray that He would grant you favor in the eyes of those who hire, and that He would open a door which no man can shut, and if He shuts a door, that you may have grace to stand still until the cloudy and fiery pillar moves before you. Our best profit will always consist in doing God's will.

We also pray for wisdom, for the Lord gives wisdom liberally to them that ask in faith. May He teach you not only how to labor with skill and diligence, but how to walk uprightly before Him, so that no good thing which is truly good for you will He withhold. May He make you willing in the day of His power, working in you to will and to do of His good pleasure, and keep you content to be passive in His hand when that is your strength, and active when He calls you to act.

Concerning the gift of tongues, we pray that the Holy Spirit, who divides to every man severally as He will, would fill you with that which most edifies your soul and the church of Christ. The Spirit's great work is to change the human will and make men willing to love Christ, to understand His Word, and to speak His truth with clarity and power. We ask that whatever utterance the Lord gives you may be decent and in order, according to His revealed will in Scripture, for the building up of faith and the glory of Jesus, in whom alone is salvation. Seek above all to know Christ and to make Him known, for if the heart is filled with His sweet savor, the lips will speak what is acceptable to God.

Let us pray together. O Lord our God, our shelter and our portion, Thou hast promised to be favorable to Thy people and to hear before they call. Grant to this Thy servant work that is honest and sufficient, in the place where Thou wouldst have him to be. Give him favor where favor is needed, and wisdom to use both little and much for Thy praise. Keep him from anxious striving after gain for its own sake, and teach him to seek first Thy kingdom. Fill him with Thy Spirit, that his speech and his life may declare Thy wondrous works, and that he may speak as Thou givest utterance, to the edifying of others and to the honor of Christ alone. We ask this not as we will, but as Thou wilt, for Thou art King and doest as it pleases Thee, having mercy on whom Thou wilt have mercy. In the name of Jesus Christ our only hope and righteousness, Amen.
