Disciple of Prayer
Pray for ### to be free from alcohol and smoking addiction and depression and spiritual attack. Pray for ### to have good health.

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious soul who is battling the chains of addiction, the weight of depression, and the oppression of spiritual attack. We know that these struggles are not merely physical or emotional, but they are deeply spiritual, for our adversary seeks to steal, kill, and destroy. But we declare that Jesus came that we might have life, and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We stand in the gap, believing that freedom is not only possible but promised to those who are in Christ.

First, we must address the root of these struggles. Addiction to alcohol and smoking is not just a habit—it is bondage. The Bible warns us that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, and we are to honor God with them (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). These substances defile the temple and give the enemy a foothold in the life of a believer. We rebuke the spirit of addiction in the mighty name of Jesus! We declare that where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom (2 Corinthians 3:17). We pray that the chains of chemical dependence would be broken, and that the mind would be renewed by the washing of the Word (Romans 12:2). We ask the Lord to replace the cravings with a hunger and thirst for righteousness (Matthew 5:6), and to fill this dear one with the Holy Spirit, who gives power to overcome every temptation (Luke 24:49).

Depression is a heavy burden, and we do not take it lightly. The enemy would love nothing more than to isolate and discourage, whispering lies that there is no hope. But we declare that the joy of the Lord is our strength (Nehemiah 8:10), and that God is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). We pray that the light of Christ would pierce the darkness of despair, and that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, would guard this heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). We ask the Lord to remind this one of His promises—that He will never leave nor forsake (Hebrews 13:5), and that He is working all things together for good (Romans 8:28). We rebuke the spirit of heaviness and command it to flee in Jesus’ name! We pray for the oil of gladness to replace the spirit of mourning (Isaiah 61:3).

Spiritual attack is real, and we must stand firm in the armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18). The enemy seeks to sift like wheat, but Jesus has prayed for us, that our faith would not fail (Luke 22:31-32). We take up the shield of faith to quench every fiery dart of the evil one, and we wield the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. We declare that no weapon formed against this one shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that the gates of hell shall not prevail (Matthew 16:18). We pray for a fresh infilling of the Holy Spirit, who empowers us to resist the devil so that he will flee (James 4:7). We ask the Lord to surround this one with His angels, to protect and minister to them (Hebrews 1:14).

Good health is not just the absence of disease, but it is wholeness in body, mind, and spirit. We pray for physical healing, that every organ, cell, and system would function as God designed. We ask the Lord to restore strength, vitality, and energy, and to renew this one’s body as the eagle’s (Isaiah 40:31). We pray for mental clarity, emotional stability, and spiritual discernment. We ask that the Lord would guide this one to wise counsel—doctors, counselors, or pastors who can provide godly support and accountability. We pray for a community of believers to come alongside and bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2).

Above all, we pray that this dear one would draw near to God, and that He would draw near to them (James 4:8). We ask that they would experience the love of Christ in a fresh and powerful way, knowing that nothing can separate them from His love (Romans 8:38-39). If there has been any unconfessed sin, we pray that the Holy Spirit would convict gently but firmly, leading to repentance and restoration (1 John 1:9). We declare that the blood of Jesus cleanses from all sin, and that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1).

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, our Savior and Deliverer. We lift up this precious soul to You, knowing that You are the Great Physician, the Wonderful Counselor, and the Prince of Peace. We ask that You would break every chain of addiction, lift the weight of depression, and silence the lies of the enemy. We pray for complete healing—body, mind, and spirit. Fill this one with Your Holy Spirit, and let Your light shine in the darkness. Surround them with Your love, Your protection, and Your people. Give them a hunger for Your Word and a thirst for Your presence. We declare that they are more than conquerors through Christ who loves them (Romans 8:37), and that greater is He who is in them than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). We thank You for Your faithfulness, and we trust You to complete the good work You have begun in this life. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

We're standing with you, dear friend, in this battle for freedom and wholeness. We're reminded of the verse, "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit" (Psalm 34:18). We're claiming that promise for you today.

We're asking the Lord to reveal any root issues behind these struggles. We're believing for a breakthrough in your addiction, that those chains would be broken and you'd be free to live the abundant life Jesus promises (John 10:10). We're praying for a hunger for righteousness to replace those old cravings, and for the Holy Spirit to fill you with power to overcome every temptation (Luke 24:49).

Depression can feel like a heavy weight, but we're declaring that God is near to you, and His joy is your strength (Nehemiah 8:10). We're asking the Lord to pierce the darkness with His light, to fill you with His peace, and to remind you of His promises, especially that He will never leave nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5).

We're also standing against spiritual attack. We're claiming Ephesians 6:10-18, putting on the full armor of God. We're believing that no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that the gates of hell shall not prevail (Matthew 16:18). We're asking the Lord to fill you with His Holy Spirit, to empower you to resist the devil, and to surround you with His angels for protection and ministry (Hebrews 1:14).

We're praying for good health - wholeness in body, mind, and spirit. We're asking the Lord to heal you physically, to restore strength and vitality, and to give you mental clarity, emotional stability, and spiritual discernment. We're also praying for a community of believers to come alongside you, to bear one another's burdens (Galatians 6:2).

Above all, we're praying that you'd draw near to God, and that He'd draw near to you (James 4:8). We're asking that you'd experience the love of Christ in a fresh and powerful way, knowing that nothing can separate you from His love (Romans 8:38-39). We're believing for conviction, repentance, and restoration where needed, and declaring that the blood of Jesus cleanses from all sin, and there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1).

We trust the Lord with your journey, dear friend. He is faithful, and He will complete the good work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6). In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
