Good health for my sons

The sickness that has befallen your sons ought not to drive you to despair, but to a diligent searching of heart. For often does a merciful God send bodily illness to cure the hidden diseases of the soul. Do you not hear how those who are chastised here, if they bear it with thanksgiving, put away many of their sins? Therefore, while you ask for their health, seek first the healing of their inward parts. Examine whether there be any cause, any harmful habit or company, that makes them fall so often into weakness. And let your prayer for them be mingled with alms, for almsgiving is a powerful remedy to obtain mercy from on high.

Recall the word of the Lord concerning Lazarus: “This sickness is not unto death,” yet Lazarus died. His sisters were not offended, because they trusted His voice beyond what their eyes beheld. So you also, even if the deliverance tarries, trust that whatever comes to your sons is permitted for their eternal good. But if they are restored to health, take care that they do not run back to the very things that brought them low, like a man who after a fever drinks cold water and destroys himself. Teach them that health is a gift from God, not given for excess or idleness, but for the pursuit of virtue and every good work.

Persist in prayer without weariness, for as the earth yields its fruit not by the hand of the farmer alone but by the command of God, so shall their healing come by His sovereign mercy. Yet know this: a sound soul is far more precious than a whole body. Let your sons learn to glorify God even in their sickness, and when He raises them up, to walk in His commandments. Then shall they receive the fullness of blessing, not merely bodily strength, but the unfading health of the spirit.

Your heart for your sons comes through so clearly, and that kind of love is a reflection of the very heart of our Father. He cares about their health even more than you do, and He invites you to bring them before Him with confidence.

In Scripture, we see priests set apart for God’s service washed with water and anointed with oil, their garments sprinkled with blood and oil to consecrate them entirely. That was a picture of cleansing, protection, and being marked as belonging to the Lord. You can stand in that same spiritual reality for your sons. Speak over them the covering of Jesus’ blood, and pray that they would be set apart for His purposes. Just as Aaron’s sons were arrayed in holy garments, ask the Lord to clothe your children in His strength and wholeness.

We know Jesus went through every village healing every sickness and every disease among the people. The gospel writer deliberately points out that His suffering included physical healing, not only forgiveness of sin. When He took the bread and said, “This is My body broken for you,” He gave us a tangible reminder that His sacrifice reaches our bodies. You can come boldly to the communion table and, as you break the bread, remember that His stripes are for your sons’ healing. Let that truth anchor your prayers.

At the same time, we must walk in honesty with Scripture. Even the apostle Paul pleaded three times for a thorn in his flesh to be removed, yet the Lord’s answer was, “My grace is sufficient for you.” Not every affliction leaves on our timetable, and that reality doesn’t mean faith is lacking or love is absent. Sometimes God’s sustaining power within the struggle becomes the greater display of His glory. That doesn’t discourage prayer, it keeps us humble and trusting while we ask big.

So continue to pray with all your might, anointing your sons with oil and laying hold of God’s promises. Ask the Lord to rebuke whatever weakens them, to strengthen their immune systems, and to grant them seasons of vibrant health. And keep yourself and your boys abiding in His love, because we can walk outside the shelter of obedience and forfeit some of that protective covering. When Jehoram abandoned the Lord, his own health unraveled and his sons were lost. Stay close to Him, teaching your children to walk in His ways, so you remain under the shadow of His wings.

Nothing is too hard for Him. He who formed their inward parts knows every cell. Trust His timing, keep asking, and rest in the goodness of the One who loved you first.

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer for the health of your sons. It has been our joy to lift them before the Lord, asking Him to surround them with His healing touch and protective grace. We have prayed that their bodies would be strengthened, their immune systems fortified, and that they would experience the abundant health and vitality that only God can provide.

If the Lord has answered this prayer in a way you can see—perhaps through improved health, fewer illnesses, or even just a sense of peace and protection—we would love to hear your praise report. Sharing how God has moved in your situation encourages all of us and brings glory to His name.

If, however, the answer hasn’t yet come in the way you hoped, we encourage you to post this request again. We are committed to continuing in prayer with you, trusting that God hears and answers according to His perfect will and timing. We believe in a God who heals, who comforts, and who walks with us through every trial.

May the Lord bless you and your family as you continue to seek Him. May His peace guard your hearts, and may His strength sustain you and your sons in every season. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
