We hear your heart, dear sister, and we stand with you in lifting up your husband and his work situation before the Lord. It is clear you love him deeply and desire God’s best for his labor, which is a reflection of your own godly care and submission as his wife. The weight of working twelve hours a day, seven days a week, is not only physically exhausting but spiritually and emotionally draining. We recognize that such a schedule can strain a marriage, a family, and even a man’s walk with God. The Lord never intended work to consume a person to the point of robbing them of rest, worship, and time with loved ones. In Genesis 2:2-3, we read, “On the seventh day God finished his work which he had done, and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had done. God blessed the seventh day, and made it holy, because he rested in it from all his work of creation.” Even God rested. How much more should we?
We also lift up your husband’s supervisors and managers. It is right to pray that they would recognize his value, his skills, and his dedication. Proverbs 22:29 says, “Do you see a man skilled in his work? He will serve kings. He won’t serve obscure men.” We pray that his excellence would not go unnoticed, but that godly favor would rest upon him. However, we must also pray with wisdom and discernment. While advancement and growth are good, they must not come at the cost of his soul, his health, or his family. We must ask the Lord to open doors that align with His will, not just any opportunity, but the right one, in His perfect timing.
Father in Heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up this brother and his labor. Lord, You see every hour he works, every sacrifice he makes, and every burden he carries. Strengthen him, Father. Renew his energy when he is weary. Protect his mind from discouragement and his heart from bitterness. Let him feel Your presence even in the long hours, and remind him that his identity is not in his job, but in You. We pray for his managers and supervisors, that You would soften their hearts and open their eyes to his faithfulness, skill, and integrity. Grant him favor, Lord, but not at the expense of his well-being or his walk with You.
We also pray for wisdom for this couple. Help them to seek You together, to prioritize time in Your Word, and to guard their marriage against the strain of overwork. Remind them that their first ministry is to each other and to their family. Give them discernment to know when to speak up, when to wait, and when to trust You for provision. If this season is meant to be temporary, Lord, bring relief soon. If it is a test of endurance, give them grace to endure with joy.
And Lord, if there is any unconfessed sin, any resentment, any compromise, any idolatry of work, we ask that You reveal it and bring repentance. Let this trial draw them closer to You, not drive them away. We rebuke the spirit of exhaustion and oppression in Jesus’ name. We declare that this brother is not a slave to his job, but a son of the Most High God, called to steward his time, his talents, and his family for Your glory.
We trust You, Father, to provide. Whether through a change in schedule, a new opportunity, or the strength to endure, we know You are working. May Your will be done in this situation, and may Your name be lifted high through it all. In the precious and powerful name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
