As long as we remain in Him, we are safe, not necessarily from every earthly trouble, but safe from the ultimate judgment and held in a Father’s care. The secret place you seek is not ultimately an address others don’t know; it is the shelter of the Most High. There, with your cats, with your family, or alone, you can know a peace the world cannot give.

The structures of wood, hay, and stubble, our fear-driven plans and earthly securities, will not endure. But what is built of gold and silver, works done in fellowship with God, those survive. Your desire for a home is good; bring it before the Lord. Yet set your hope fully on that eternal house where no fire can reach, no council can deny, and every tear is wiped away.

He knows your need for shelter and for a place to heal. Bring it to Him, leave it in His hands, and then rest in the refuge that is Himself. The God of Jacob, the schemer, the struggler, became a prince with God. That same God is with you. Walk uprightly, speak truth, fear Him, and you will dwell on high. Your place of defense will be the fortress of His presence, not a hidden street number.
