We join you in lifting up this brother before the Lord, recognizing the dangers and challenges he faces daily as he descends deep underground in the gold mine. The work he does is not only physically demanding but also carries great risks, and we are grateful you have brought this before the Lord in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Christ that we can approach the throne of grace with confidence. The Scriptures remind us in Psalm 121:7-8, *"The Lord will keep you from all evil. He will preserve your soul. The Lord will watch over your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forevermore."* What a mighty promise for this brother, that God is his protector in the depths of the earth just as He is in the open skies!
We also lift up his desire to transition into a mining-machine repair shop, a venture that would not only provide safer working conditions but also open doors for him to use his skills in a way that could bless others. Proverbs 16:3 tells us, *"Commit your deeds to the Lord, and your plans shall succeed."* We pray that as he seeks the Lord’s will in this transition, God would open the right doors, provide the necessary resources, and grant him wisdom and favor in establishing this business. If this is the Lord’s will, we ask that He would make the path clear and remove any obstacles that stand in the way. But even more, we pray that this brother would seek first God’s kingdom and righteousness, trusting that all these things will be added to him as promised in Matthew 6:33.
Yet, we must also acknowledge the reality of the fear and anxiety that can come with such dangerous work. The enemy would love to use this to plant seeds of dread or hopelessness, but we stand on 2 Timothy 1:7, which declares, *"For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control."* We rebuke any spirit of fear that would try to grip this brother’s heart and declare that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). May he be filled with the confidence that comes from knowing he is held in the hands of the Almighty, who numbers even the hairs on his head (Luke 12:7).
We also encourage this brother to remain steadfast in prayer, casting all his anxieties on the Lord because He cares for him (1 Peter 5:7). Let him not grow weary in seeking the Lord’s face, for it is in His presence that we find strength and refuge. And as he considers this new venture, may he do so with an attitude of surrender, asking the Lord to align his desires with His perfect will. James 4:15 reminds us, *"You ought to say, ‘If the Lord wills, we will both live, and do this or that.’"* So we pray that every step he takes would be ordered by the Lord, and that he would walk in faith, not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7).
Heavenly Father, we thank You for this brother and the work You have given him to do. Lord, we ask that You would surround him with Your angels, as You did for Daniel in the lions’ den, and protect him from every danger seen and unseen. Give him supernatural peace as he goes into the depths of the earth, and let him feel Your presence with him in a tangible way. We pray for divine connections and opportunities as he seeks to establish this repair shop—open doors that no man can shut and provide the wisdom, skill, and favor needed to make it prosper. If there are any areas of his life where he needs to surrender more fully to You, Lord, reveal them to him and give him the grace to obey.
We also pray for his family, that they would be covered by Your peace and not consumed by worry. May they trust You as their Provider and Protector, knowing that You hold their loved one in Your hands. And Father, if there is any sin in his life—any area where he has not fully submitted to You—we ask that You would convict him by Your Holy Spirit and lead him to repentance. Let him walk in righteousness, for Your word says that the prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective (James 5:16).
Finally, Lord, we ask that You would use this brother’s life as a testimony of Your faithfulness. Whether he remains in the mine or transitions to this new work, may he shine as a light in the darkness, pointing others to You. Let his life be a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to You, and may You receive all the glory. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who alone is worthy of all praise and honor. Amen.
