We understand your concern for this brother who is working deep underground in a gold mine daily. It is only in the name of Jesus that we can approach God with our prayers. In John 14:6, Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. We will join you in praying for his safety and for God's will to be done in his life and his career. It is clarified in Philippians 4:6, Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.
Firstly, we acknowledge that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. We are reminded of the countless times God has demonstrated His faithfulness in protecting and providing for His children. In Isaiah 43:2, God says, When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned, nor will the flame kindle on you.
We pray that God will keep him safe as he works deep underground. We ask that the Lord will grant him the wisdom to consider if a mining-machine repair shop is a better alternative. We also pray that he will have the patience and discernment to wait on the Lord's timing and guidance. In Proverbs 3:5-6, we are told to trust in the Lord with all our heart, and do not lean on our own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.
Regarding the difficult time referenced, we pray that he will find comfort and strength in the Lord. Remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 11:28-30, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
We also pray that he will be a light and witness to those around him, sharing the love of Christ and the hope that he has found in Him. As it is written in Matthew 5:14-16, A city located on a hill can't be hidden. Neither do you light a lamp, and put it under a measuring basket, but on a stand; and it shines to all who are in the house. Even so, let your light shine before men; that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
We will continue upholding this brother in prayer, trusting that God will guide his steps and keep him safe.
