šŸ™ God's Will & Our Basic, Human Needs

Faithful Servant
šŸ™ Jesus said, "Pray in this way: ā€˜Our Father in Heaven, May Your Name be honored. Let Your Kingdom come. Let Your Will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive our debts, as we forgive our debtors. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the Kingdom, the Power, and the Glory, forever, Amen.’" Matt 6:9-13, in Jesus' Name.

We see in your request a heart seeking to align with the Lord’s will and a recognition of our dependence on Him for even our most basic needs. Jesus’ model prayer in Matthew 6:9-13 is indeed the foundation for how we ought to approach God—with reverence, submission to His will, trust in His provision, and a spirit of forgiveness and dependence on His protection. You’ve rightly highlighted the priority of God’s kingdom and will above all else, even as we bring our daily needs before Him.

The Lord knows we need food, shelter, and sustenance, yet He calls us first to seek *His* kingdom and righteousness, trusting that He will provide all we need (Matthew 6:33). This is not a passive trust but an active pursuit of His will in every area of our lives. When we pray, ā€œYour will be done,ā€ we are surrendering our desires, plans, and even our understanding of what we *think* we need to the wisdom and sovereignty of God. His ways are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:8-9), and His provision is always perfect, even when it doesn’t look the way we expect.

We also notice that your prayer is rightly offered *in Jesus’ name*, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father (John 14:6). There is no other name by which we can be saved, and no other mediator between God and humanity (1 Timothy 2:5). This is a truth we must never take for granted—every prayer, every need, every cry of our heart must be brought before the throne of God through the finished work of Christ. Without Him, our prayers are empty; with Him, they are powerful and heard.

Let us pray together for you and for all who seek to walk in God’s will while trusting Him for their daily needs:

*Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the gift of prayer and the access we have to Your throne through Your Son, Jesus Christ. Lord, we lift up this beloved one who seeks to align their life with Your will, just as Jesus taught us to pray. Father, may Your kingdom come and Your will be done in their life as it is in heaven. Give them today their daily bread—not just the physical sustenance they need, but the spiritual nourishment that comes from Your Word and Your presence. Forgive them their debts, Lord, as they forgive those who have wronged them, and lead them not into temptation but deliver them from the evil one.*

*We ask that You would open their eyes to see Your provision in every area of their life, even when it seems scarce or delayed. Help them to trust You more deeply, knowing that You are a good Father who gives good gifts to Your children (Matthew 7:11). Remove any anxiety or fear about the future, and replace it with a peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:6-7). Teach them to be content in all circumstances, whether in abundance or in need, knowing that You are their provider (Philippians 4:11-13).*

*Lord, if there are areas in their life where they have struggled to surrender to Your will, we ask for Your conviction and grace. Soften their heart to submit fully to You, for Your will is perfect, pleasing, and good (Romans 12:2). May they find joy in obeying You, even when it requires sacrifice or waiting. Remind them that You are working all things together for their good and Your glory (Romans 8:28).*

*We pray for a deeper revelation of who You are—our Provider, our Protector, our Peace. May they experience the reality of Your presence in their daily life, and may their faith be strengthened as they see You faithfulness unfold. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.*

We encourage you to continue bringing every need before the Lord, no matter how small or great. He cares deeply for you (1 Peter 5:7) and delights in your dependence on Him. As you seek His will above all else, remember that His timing is perfect, and His ways are always for your ultimate good. Keep pressing into His Word, for it is a lamp to your feet and a light to your path (Psalm 119:105). If there are specific needs or decisions you are facing, we urge you to share them so we may pray with greater specificity. The body of Christ is called to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2), and we are here to stand with you in faith.

Lastly, we exhort you to examine your heart regularly: Are there areas where you are holding back from full surrender to God’s will? Are there sins or idols that might be hindering your prayers (Psalm 66:18)? The Lord calls us to walk in obedience and holiness, for without it, no one will see the Lord (Hebrews 12:14). If the Holy Spirit convicts you of anything, repent and turn to Jesus, for He is faithful and just to forgive and cleanse you from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).

May the Lord bless you and keep you as you walk in His will. His grace is sufficient for you, and His power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). Trust Him, beloved, for He is worthy.

We're right there with you, seeking God's will and trusting Him for our daily needs. It's amazing how Jesus' model prayer in Matthew 6:9-13 covers it all - reverence, submission, trust, forgiveness, and dependence. Let's pray together:

"Dear Father, we come before You, aligning our hearts with Your will. We ask that Your kingdom come and Your will be done in our lives, just as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread - not just physical sustenance, but also spiritual nourishment from Your Word and presence. Forgive our debts, Lord, as we forgive those who have wronged us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.

We trust that You know our needs even before we ask. Help us to rest in Your provision, even when it looks different than we expect. Open our eyes to see Your provision in every area of our lives, and help us to be content in all circumstances, knowing that You are our good Father who gives good gifts to His children.

If there are areas where we've struggled to surrender to Your will, convict our hearts and give us grace to submit fully to You. Help us to find joy in obeying You, even when it requires sacrifice or waiting.

We pray for a deeper revelation of who You are - our Provider, our Protector, our Peace. May we experience the reality of Your presence in our daily lives, and may our faith be strengthened as we see Your faithfulness unfold.

In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen."

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
