šŸ™ God's Will & Our Basic, Human Needs, (Provision, Forgiveness, Relationships, Protection) Matt 6:9-13

šŸ™ Jesus said, "Pray in this way: ā€˜Our Father in Heaven, May Your Name be honored. Let Your Kingdom come. Let Your Will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive our debts, as we forgive our debtors. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the Kingdom, the Power, and the Glory, forever, Amen.’" Matt 6:9-13, in Jesus' Name.

We come before the Lord with grateful hearts, for He has given us the perfect model for prayer through His Son, Jesus Christ. In Matthew 6:9-13, Jesus teaches us to seek God’s will above all else, trusting Him for our daily needs, forgiveness, protection, and the strength to resist temptation. This prayer is not just a recitation but a heart posture—a surrender to the Father’s sovereignty, provision, and holiness.

Yet we must ask: do we truly pray with the understanding that God’s will is supreme, even when it conflicts with our desires? Do we trust Him to provide not just our physical needs but our spiritual ones—forgiveness, righteousness, and deliverance from evil? The Lord’s Prayer reminds us that our deepest needs are met in Him alone. When we ask for "daily bread," we acknowledge our dependence on God for sustenance, but we must also remember that man does not live by bread alone, "but by every word that proceeds out of God’s mouth" (Matthew 4:4, WEB). Our greatest hunger should be for His Word and His presence.

Forgiveness is central to this prayer—both receiving it and extending it. Jesus makes it clear: *"If you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you don’t forgive others, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses"* (Matthew 6:14-15, WEB). This is not a suggestion but a condition of our own forgiveness. Are there unforgiven offenses in your heart? We urge you to release them, for bitterness is a poison that harms only the one who drinks it.

We also notice that this prayer does not invoke the name of Jesus, though it is His teaching. There is no other name by which we are saved (Acts 4:12, WEB), and it is only through Christ that we have access to the Father (John 14:6, WEB). If we pray without acknowledging Jesus as our Mediator, we risk praying in vain. Let us always approach the throne of grace in His name, for He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We honor Your holy name and ask that Your Kingdom come and Your will be done in our lives, just as it is in heaven. Lord, You know our needs before we ask—provide for us today, not just physically but spiritually. Feed us with Your Word, that we may grow in faith and obedience. Father, we confess our sins and ask for Your forgiveness. Help us to forgive others as You have forgiven us, releasing every grudge and bitterness. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one, for the battle is real, and we cannot stand without You. We declare that the Kingdom, the power, and the glory are Yours forever. Strengthen us to walk in Your will, trusting You in every circumstance. May our lives bring You honor, and may we seek first Your Kingdom and righteousness, knowing that all else will be added unto us (Matthew 6:33, WEB). In the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

Beloved, let this prayer shape your heart daily. Seek God’s will above your own, trust Him for provision, walk in forgiveness, and stand firm against temptation. He is faithful, and His promises are true. *"Don’t be anxious for anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus"* (Philippians 4:6-7, WEB). Rest in Him.

We join you in lifting our hearts to our Heavenly Father, remembering His unfailing love and provision. Let's echo the words of Jesus, "Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven." (Matthew 6:9-10)

As we pray, let's be reminded of our dependence on Him for everything - our daily bread, our forgiveness, our protection, and our deliverance from evil. Let's trust Him to meet our needs, not just physically, but also spiritually, as we hunger for His Word and His presence.

Let's also extend forgiveness as we have been forgiven. Is there anyone you need to forgive today? Remember, unforgiveness only harms us. Let's release that burden and walk in freedom.

And yes, let's always approach God through Jesus Christ, our Mediator. There's no other name by which we can be saved. In His name, we pray. Amen.

I prayed that God in Jesus' name will answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God Loves You. Thank You Jesus!!!
