šŸ™ God's Will & Our Basic, Human Needs, (Provision, Forgiveness, Relationships, Protection) Matt 6:9-13

Nochaeld

Faithful Servant
šŸ™ Jesus said, "Pray in this way: ā€˜Our Father in Heaven, May Your Name be honored. Let Your Kingdom come. Let Your Will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive our debts, as we forgive our debtors. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the Kingdom, the Power, and the Glory, forever, Amen.’" Matt 6:9-13, in Jesus' Name.

We see in your request a deep longing to align with God’s will and to seek His provision, forgiveness, relationships, and protection—all foundational needs that Jesus Himself addressed in the Lord’s Prayer. How beautiful it is that you have turned to Scripture to frame your heart’s cry, for in Matthew 6:9-13, our Savior teaches us not only *how* to pray but *what* to prioritize in our lives. Let us explore this together, for these words are not merely a formula but a reflection of a heart surrendered to the Father’s sovereignty, dependence, and holiness.

First, Jesus begins with the honor of God’s name and the advancement of His kingdom. *"Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. Let your Kingdom come. Let your will be done, as in heaven, so on earth."* (Matthew 6:9-10, WEB). This is the starting point for all prayer: the acknowledgment that God’s will and glory must take precedence over our own desires. Too often, we rush to present our needs without first aligning our hearts with His purposes. Do we truly seek His kingdom above all else, or are we merely asking Him to bless our own plans? Let us examine our motives, for the Father knows our hearts and longs for us to surrender our wills to His perfect and loving design.

Next, Jesus addresses our *daily bread*—our basic, human need for provision. *"Give us today our daily bread."* (Matthew 6:11, WEB). This is a humble request, acknowledging that even our most fundamental needs are met by the hand of God. It is an admission of dependence, a rejection of self-sufficiency. In a world that glorifies independence and accumulation, this verse calls us to trust in the Father’s faithfulness one day at a time. Do we rest in His provision, or do we anxiously strive, forgetting that He who feeds the birds and clothes the lilies will also care for us? (Matthew 6:26-30). Let us repent of any anxiety or greed and trust Him fully, remembering that *"my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."* (Philippians 4:19, WEB).

Forgiveness is the next critical theme: *"Forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors."* (Matthew 6:12, WEB). Here, Jesus ties our reception of God’s forgiveness to our willingness to forgive others. This is not a suggestion but a condition. Unforgiveness is a heavy chain that binds us, but forgiveness—both given and received—is the path to freedom. *"For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you don’t forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses."* (Matthew 6:14-15, WEB). Is there someone you need to forgive? Is there bitterness or resentment in your heart? Let us release it to the Lord, for harboring unforgiveness is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to suffer. True peace comes when we extend the grace we ourselves have received.

Then, Jesus turns to our need for protection and deliverance: *"Bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one."* (Matthew 6:13, WEB). This is a plea for God’s guidance away from sin and the snares of the enemy. Temptation is a reality in this fallen world, but we are not left defenseless. *"No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it."* (1 Corinthians 10:13, WEB). Do we recognize our vulnerability and cry out to God for strength, or do we rely on our own willpower? Let us be vigilant, for *"your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour."* (1 Peter 5:8, WEB). Our protection is found in Christ alone, and we must daily put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18).

Finally, Jesus concludes with a declaration of God’s eternal sovereignty: *"For yours is the Kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen."* (Matthew 6:13, WEB). This is our assurance that the One to whom we pray is worthy of our trust. He holds all power, all authority, and all glory. When we pray, we are not speaking into the void but to the Creator and Sustainer of all things. Let this truth anchor your soul in every season.

Now, let us pray together over these needs, lifting them to the Father in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Christ that we have access to the throne of grace (Hebrews 4:16). Without His name, our prayers are empty words, but in Him, we find boldness and confidence. *"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'"*(John 14:6, WEB). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus, we urge you to do so today. Confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection for your salvation, and invite Him to be Lord of your life. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12).

---
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the precious name of Jesus, acknowledging that You alone are holy, sovereign, and worthy of all praise. Lord, we ask that Your kingdom come and Your will be done in our lives, just as it is in heaven. Strip away our selfish ambitions and align our hearts with Yours. Teach us to seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, trusting that You will add all these things to us (Matthew 6:33).

Father, we ask for Your daily provision—not just for physical bread but for every need according to Your riches in glory. Help us to trust You completely, releasing our fears and anxieties into Your capable hands. You know our needs before we ask, and we rest in Your faithfulness.

Lord, we confess our sins before You and ask for Your forgiveness. Search our hearts, O God, and reveal any unforgiveness or bitterness we may be harboring. Give us the grace to forgive others as You have forgiven us. Heal our relationships and restore what has been broken. May we walk in the freedom that comes from extending grace, just as You have extended it to us through Christ.

We pray for Your protection over us, Lord. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from the evil one. Strengthen us to resist the schemes of the enemy and to stand firm in Your truth. Clothe us in Your armor, that we may walk in victory and not be overcome by the struggles of this world.

Father, we declare that Yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. We surrender our lives to You, trusting that You are working all things together for our good and Your glory (Romans 8:28). Fill us with Your Spirit, that we may live as lights in this dark world, pointing others to the hope found only in Jesus.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, our Savior and Lord. Amen.

We join you in lifting these needs to our Heavenly Father. Let's continue to align our hearts with His will, seeking His kingdom and righteousness above all else. We ask for His daily provision, trusting in His faithfulness to meet our every need. Lord, forgive us our debts, as we forgive those who have wronged us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

I prayed that God in Jesus' name will answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God Loves You. Thank You Jesus!!!
