🙏 God's Will & Our Basic, Human Needs, (Provision, Forgiveness, Relationships, Protection) Matt 6:9-13

Faithful Servant
🙏 Jesus said, "Pray in this way: ‘Our Father in Heaven, May Your Name be honored. Let Your Kingdom come. Let Your Will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive our debts, as we forgive our debtors. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the Kingdom, the Power, and the Glory, forever, Amen.’" Matt 6:9-13, in Jesus' Name.

We see you’ve lifted up the Lord’s Prayer, a profound model Jesus gave us for how to approach our Heavenly Father. This prayer beautifully balances God’s sovereignty with our human needs—provision, forgiveness, relationships, and protection—all while submitting to His will above our own. Yet we notice something missing in your request: the explicit name of Jesus Christ. While you closed with “in Jesus’ Name,” we want to gently but firmly remind you that there is no other name under heaven by which we are saved, and it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. As Scripture declares, *"There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus"* (1 Timothy 2:5, WEB). Without faith in Him, even the most earnest prayers lack power, for *"no one comes to the Father, except through me"* (John 14:6, WEB).

Let us reflect together on the Lord’s Prayer and its depth. When Jesus teaches us to pray, *"Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy"* (Matthew 6:9, WEB), He directs our hearts first to worship—to acknowledge God’s holiness and our dependence on Him. Then He moves to submission: *"Let your Kingdom come. Let your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven."* This is a surrender, a recognition that God’s plans are perfect, even when they differ from our desires. How often do we pray for our needs—daily bread, forgiveness, deliverance—yet forget to yield to His will? Or worse, how often do we treat prayer like a transaction, seeking blessings while neglecting repentance or alignment with His Word?

You’ve highlighted our basic needs, and indeed, God cares deeply for them. But let us examine these through Scripture’s lens:
- **Provision (Daily Bread):** *"But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well"* (Matthew 6:33, WEB). Do we trust Him for our needs, or do we anxiously strive in our own strength?
- **Forgiveness:** *"If you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you; but if you don’t forgive others, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses"* (Matthew 6:14-15, WEB). Unforgiveness is a barrier to God’s mercy in our lives. Are we holding onto bitterness?
- **Relationships:** God designed us for community, but all relationships must be rooted in Christ. *"Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers"* (2 Corinthians 6:14, WEB). Are our friendships, courtships, or marriages honoring to Him?
- **Protection:** *"Watch and pray, that you don’t enter into temptation"* (Matthew 26:41, WEB). Temptation often preys on unguarded areas—pride, lust, greed. Are we actively resisting the devil, or flirting with sin?

Now, let us pray together over these truths, asking God to align our hearts with His will and to meet our needs according to His riches in glory.

**Prayer:**
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You for the gift of prayer, for the access we have to Your throne through the blood of Your Son. Lord, forgive us for the times we’ve approached You with selfish motives or half-hearted worship. Teach us to pray as Jesus taught—to honor Your name, to seek Your Kingdom first, and to surrender our wills to Yours.

Father, we ask for Your provision in every area of our lives. You know our needs before we even speak them. Help us to trust You for our daily bread, whether that be physical sustenance, emotional strength, or spiritual nourishment. Remind us that man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from Your mouth (Matthew 4:4). When we are tempted to worry, let us cast our cares upon You, for You care for us (1 Peter 5:7).

Lord, we confess our sins before You now. Search our hearts and reveal any unforgiveness, bitterness, or rebellion lurking within us. Your Word says that if we confess our sins, You are faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). Help us to extend that same forgiveness to others, even when it’s difficult. Break the chains of resentment in our lives, and fill us with Your love, which covers a multitude of sins (1 Peter 4:8).

Father, we lift up our relationships to You. May they be pleasing in Your sight. For those who are single, we pray for godly spouses who will cherish and lead in love, if it is Your will. For those in courtship, may their focus be on purity and preparing for a Christ-centered marriage. For those married, strengthen their bonds, and help them to love as Christ loved the church—sacrificially and unconditionally. Protect us from relationships that would pull us away from You. Let iron sharpen iron (Proverbs 27:17), and may our connections bring glory to Your name.

We ask for Your protection, Lord. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. The world is full of snares, but You are our refuge and strength (Psalm 46:1). Clothe us in Your armor (Ephesians 6:10-18) so we may stand firm against the schemes of the devil. When we are weak, be our strength. When we are afraid, be our peace.

Finally, Father, we surrender our wills to Yours. Your Kingdom come, Your will be done—on earth as it is in heaven. We trust that Your plans for us are good, to give us a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). Help us to walk in obedience, even when the path is difficult. Let our lives be a testament to Your faithfulness.

We pray all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer. For Yours is the Kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen.

We join you in lifting up our needs and desires to our Heavenly Father. We're reminded of Jesus' words, "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you" (Matthew 7:7). Let's approach Him with confidence, knowing that He cares for us deeply.

We're struck by the balance in the Lord's Prayer. We ask for our daily bread, forgiveness, and protection, but we also align ourselves with God's will. Let's ensure we're not just seeking blessings, but also yielding to His will and growing in holiness.

We pray for provision, trusting that God will supply all our needs according to His riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). We ask for forgiveness, not just for ourselves, but also for others, as we're commanded to love our enemies (Matthew 5:44). We pray for protection, seeking God's shield against temptation and evil (Ephesians 6:16).

We also pray for wisdom, that we may understand His will and walk in it (Colossians 1:9). We ask for unity in our relationships, that we may love one another as Christ loved us (John 13:34-35). We pray for courage, that we may stand firm in our faith and share the Gospel with boldness (Ephesians 6:19-20).

All these, we pray in Jesus' name, amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
