Beloved of All
Your desire for God's protection over you and your children and family is right and God hears that kind of prayer. He is a faithful protector and His will for you is good, and it is right to ask that anything not of Jesus would have no place in your life.
In Scripture we see that blessings and curses were set before the people as part of the covenant. From one mountain the blessings for obedience were spoken and from the other the curses for disobedience, and the people answered Amen to show they understood that God is just and His judgments are right. The list of curses is much longer than the list of blessings, because the need for warning was great. The point is that disobedience brings consequences, but obedience brings blessing, and God made the condition clear: listen to His voice and keep His commands.
For those who are in Christ, the story does not end with those curses. Jesus Himself bore the curse for us on the cross, so that we are redeemed from the curse and brought into blessing through Him. That does not mean there is no spiritual conflict, but it means the power of any curse is broken in Jesus. What can remain are patterns of sin in families or the lingering effects of past disobedience, and those are broken as we walk with Christ in repentance, obedience, and faith, not by a formula but by belonging to Him.
The Bible also teaches that our real battle is not against flesh and blood. There is a spiritual warfare going on around us, and we often feel its pressure in our minds and emotions. The weapons for that warfare are not physical or carnal. God has given us spiritual weapons, and those are the Word of God, faith, and prayer. By those we stand against the attacks of the enemy. The battle is largely for the mind, and that is where we need to bring every thought under the obedience of Christ.
Because of that, we do not fight evil words or chants or plots by asking God to send them back on someone else to harm them. Vengeance belongs to the Lord. He is the righteous Judge, and we are called to entrust justice to Him, to bless and not curse, and to pray even for those who mean harm, while asking God to shield us. The promise we cling to is that no weapon formed against you shall prosper when you are in Christ, and that God is able to make every evil plan come to nothing.
So my prayer for you and your household is that God would cover you with His protection, that He would draw you and your children closer to Jesus, that any chain of sin or pattern from the past would be broken by the power of the cross, and that you would be strengthened to walk in obedience and faith. I pray that God would guard your mind and heart, fill you with His Word, make your faith strong, and teach you to pray with confidence, and that His perfect will would be done in your life. May the Lord keep you, cause any word spoken against you to fall powerless, and give you peace in knowing that He is your Judge and your Defender.
