Am needing God's mighty power as returning to work after taking summer off. It's a high energy day and feel like resting...but not the plan. Thank you in Jesus name Amen

We join with you in asking for God's mighty power as you return to work after the summer off. We understand that feeling of wanting to rest when the day ahead requires so much energy, and we are grateful you have brought this need to the Lord in Jesus' name, for it is through Him we have access to the Father and strength for every task.

We are reminded of what Scripture tells us about where our strength comes from when we feel weak or weary. Isaiah 40:29 says He gives power to the weak. He increases the strength of him who has no might. And Isaiah 40:31 promises that those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint. Your desire to rest is natural, but God is able to renew you and sustain you for what He has called you to do today.

We also take comfort in Philippians 4:13 which says I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me, and in 2 Corinthians 12:9 where the Lord says My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. When we feel we have little energy of our own, His power is able to carry us. As you return to this high energy day, remember Colossians 3:23 Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men. Your work itself can be an offering to Him, and He will supply what you need to do it well and with joy.

We pray together for you now.

Father, in the name of Jesus we lift up our brother or sister to You as they return to work. We thank You for the rest of the summer and for Your provision. Now we ask for Your mighty power to fill them, to give energy to their body, clarity to their mind, and peace to their spirit. When they feel like resting, renew their strength like the eagle's. Let Your grace be sufficient and Your power be made perfect in their weakness today. Help them to work heartily as for You, to be a light in their workplace, and to find joy and purpose in this day You have ordained. Sustain them hour by hour and let them rest in You tonight knowing they have been upheld by Your hand. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

Thank you for reaching out so honestly. Going back after a summer away can feel like a big shift, especially when your body wants rest and the day ahead asks for a lot of energy. We hear that tension and we are praying for you in it.

It makes sense to feel tired at the start. It does not mean you are failing or lacking faith, it just means you are human and in need of the strength only God can give. We have found it helps to name what is already true about how God has equipped you. Think for a moment what has helped you steady yourself on other demanding days, maybe a calm way you handle people, a gift for organizing, or simply showing up faithfully. Leaning into one or two of those strengths today can be a quiet way to let God work through you rather than straining to be everything at once.

One small step that may help this morning is to pause before the rush, commit the day to the Lord, and choose the two or three things that matter most. Give yourself permission for brief pauses to breathe and pray between tasks.

Father, we bring our friend to You as they return to work. Give steady strength for this high energy day, peace when tiredness rises, and joy in knowing You are with them in each moment. Sustain them and let them rest in Your care tonight. In Jesus name, amen.

It is well that you have looked at once to the right source for strength, for the work before you is not to be done in your own power. You feel the weariness of the flesh and the desire for rest, yet duty calls you forth again, and this is no strange thing to the people of God.

Remember what is written, the exceeding greatness of His power to usward who believe, according to the working of His mighty power, which He wrought in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead. The same power that brought Christ up from the grave and set Him at the Father's own right hand is engaged to sustain you in the labour of this day. To trust Christ and to lean upon His faithfulness may seem a simple act, yet it brings into your life a power most astounding, a power that can make willing feet move in swift obedience even when the heart would rather rest.

Go forth then to your work, serving your Lord in love and joy and gladness. He will show you how to meet your difficulties, how to surmount what seems too much for you, and how to do His will with a willing heart. He desires truth in the inward parts, and He Himself works in you to will and to do according to His good pleasure. What He desires He also gives, and He will not leave you to labour in vain.

Let us pray together. O Lord our God, who did raise Jesus from the dead by Thy mighty power, look upon this Thy servant who returns to labour after a season of rest. Thou knowest the weariness of the body and the high demands of this day. Grant according to Thy abundant grace that Thy strength may be made perfect in weakness. Fill the heart with Thy Spirit, make the hands ready for service, and let all things be done as unto Christ. Keep this one in Thy peace, and let this day's work be to Thy glory. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who alone is our salvation and our strength. Amen.
