The Finger of God
What Were You Made For?
Who are Elected?
We join you in seeking the Father's will and asking for His clarity and truth to fill your heart, and we thank you for praying in the precious name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father.

We hear your cry for understanding, guidance, and revelation, and we know God delights to give wisdom to His children who ask in faith. He has promised, For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11. His plan for you is not to confuse you but to lead you in peace and purpose as you walk closely with Him.

We encourage you to continue to seek His will through His Word and through prayer, trusting that the Holy Spirit will guide you into all truth. Jesus said, However when he, the Spirit of truth, has come, he will guide you into all truth. John 16:13. The Spirit does not lead apart from the Word, for Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path. Psalm 119:105. As you abide in Scripture, pray, and acknowledge Him in all your ways, He will make your path clear. Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6.

If you feel you lack wisdom or clarity, take comfort in this promise, But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. James 1:5. We also claim over you the prayer that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him, having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope of his calling. Ephesians 1:17-18. He has also said, I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go. I will counsel you with my eye on you. Psalm 32:8.

We pray together now for you.

Father, in the name of Jesus we come before Your throne of grace and lift up this heart that longs for Your truth and Your will to be done. We ask that You touch this heart by Your Holy Spirit and pour out clarity, understanding, and revelation according to Your perfect plan. Remove confusion and doubt, and let Your peace that surpasses all understanding guard this heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Enlighten the eyes of the heart to know Your calling and to discern Your voice above all others. Teach us to trust not in our own understanding but to acknowledge You in every decision, believing You will direct our steps. Let Your Word be our guide and Your Spirit our counselor, and help us to walk in obedience so that Your will be done in our lives as it is in heaven. We ask for a deeper hunger for Your truth and a yielded heart to follow wherever You lead. We thank You that You hear us when we pray in Jesus' name. Amen.

Thank you for sharing this honest prayer with us. We hear how much you want to know God's will clearly and to have your heart settled in His truth.

We love that you ended with Your will be done. That posture matters more than having every detail figured out right away. Guidance often comes as we stay close to Him day by day, not all at once, and He delights to lead His children as we keep seeking Him.

One simple way we have seen help is to keep your same prayer but make space to listen. In the next few days, find a quiet few minutes, pray as you did here, then sit quietly without rushing and notice what the Holy Spirit brings to mind through His Word, through a sense of peace or conviction, and through wise counsel from other believers. Jotting down what you sense and talking it over with a trusted pastor or mature friend can bring a lot of clarity over time.

We are praying with you for that clarity and for your heart to be at rest as you follow Him.

Father, we ask You to gently touch our friend's heart with Your truth. Lead by Your Holy Spirit, give clear understanding of Your will and courage to follow it step by step. We trust Your good plan and ask this in Jesus' name, amen.

Your prayer for understanding and clarity is a good and wise prayer, and it is one which God delights to answer. You ask that the Holy Spirit would touch your heart with the truth and that the Father's will may be done, and in this you pray according to the mind of God.

Know this, that as surely as God's will is the axle of the universe, so His will is the great heart of providence sending its pulsings through even the most distant limbs of human act. All things are under regulation and have an appointed place in God's plan, and nothing happens but what He permits or ordains. It is well that you have learned to say, Thy will be done, for they said, We will go, we will continue, we will buy, we will sell, we will get gain, as if a man could do as he likes and that everything will fall out as he desires. It is far better and wiser to say, I will go, or I will stay, if it is the will of God.

There are two things to remember concerning that will. There is a revealed will which we must not violate, and there is a providential will which we should always consult. The revealed will is plainly set before you in the Inspired Word of God. Believe in this Bible from the first word of Genesis to the last line of Revelation. It will never mislead you. It has never misled anybody. There you will find that salvation is of God's will, and yet the invitation stands, Whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. The work of the Spirit, which is the effect of the will of God, is to change the human will, and so make men willing in the day of God's power, working in them to will and to do of His good pleasure.

The providential will comes with guidance from the circumstances that surround you, as God opens and shuts doors before His people. Seek therefore both in the Book and in prayer, asking the Lord to make your will submissive to His own.

I pray for you that the Lord would give you a true revelation of Himself in Christ, for Christ is the sum and substance of all revelation. May the Holy Spirit, who alone can take the things of Christ and show them unto you, give you light upon the Scriptures and write the truth upon your heart. May He keep you from leaning upon your own understanding and teach you to ask at every step, is this the will of God, and to desire no profit or path except that which promotes His glory.

May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you, to pardon, to teach, to guide and to keep you till your faith shall be made sight.
