Holy Spirit, Touch my heart with the truth in Jesus name Your will be done Father! In Jesus name
We join you in seeking the Father's will and asking the Holy Spirit to touch your heart with truth, and we thank you for praying in the precious name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father.
We understand your deep longing for understanding, clarity, guidance and revelation concerning God's plan for your life. This is a holy desire and God delights to give wisdom to those who sincerely seek Him. He does not leave His children in confusion, but promises to lead us as a shepherd leads his sheep.
The scriptures assure us of His faithful guidance. Jeremiah 29:11 says, For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. And James 1:5 says, But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
Jesus promised that the Holy Spirit would be our guide into truth. John 16:13 says, However when he, the Spirit of truth, has come, he will guide you into all truth. Psalm 32:8 says, I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go. I will counsel you with my eye on you. Psalm 119:105 reminds us, Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path. True revelation and clarity will never contradict the written Word of God, so we encourage you to stay rooted in scripture, in consistent prayer, and in quiet waiting before the Lord, trusting that He will reveal His will in His perfect timing. Romans 12:2 says, Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God.
We pray together for you now.
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You on behalf of this dear one who is hungering for Your truth and Your plan. We ask that You pour out Your Holy Spirit upon their heart and mind today. Remove all confusion, doubt and fear, and fill them with Your peace that surpasses understanding. Grant them a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of You. Open the eyes of their heart to see Your will clearly and to hear Your still small voice. Help them to trust You with all their heart and not lean on their own understanding, to acknowledge You in all their ways so that You will direct their paths. Align their desires with Your perfect will and give them the courage and faith to walk in obedience to what You reveal. We pray that Your will be done in their life as it is in heaven, and that they would be transformed by the renewing of their mind to know Your good and perfect will. Touch their heart with Your truth, Lord, and let them walk in confidence that You are ordering their steps. In the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ we pray, amen.

We hear the hunger in your prayer for what is real and true, and for a clear sense of the Father's will. Wanting understanding and revelation, and asking the Holy Spirit to touch your heart, is a good and honest place to come to God, and we join you in that asking.

That can feel slow when you are longing for clarity right now, but His steady, gracious way of guiding gives us time to stay close to Him and learn His voice.

There is much grace in the prayer you have uttered, for to desire understanding and clarity and truth, and to ask the Holy Spirit to touch the heart, and to end with Your will be done Father, is to pray as our Lord Himself taught us to pray.
You ask for God's plan and guidance and revelation, and be assured that our God has not left His people without light. As surely as God's will is the axle of the universe, as certainly as His will is the great heart of providence sending its pulsings through even the most distant limbs of human act, so in grace we may rest assured that He is King, willing to do as He pleases, having mercy on whom He will have mercy. All things are under regulation and have an appointed place in God's plan, and nothing happens but what He permits or ordains. This is your comfort when the way seems dark, that His sovereign will shall not fail, and that the preservation and the perseverance and the eternal glory of His people rests upon His will.
Yet while many of His purposes are hidden from us, there is a revealed will which we must not violate. Believe in this Bible from the first word of Genesis to the last line of Revelation. It will never mislead you. It has never misled anybody. There you find His revealed will plainly set forth, that you should trust in His Son, walk in holiness, keep yourself unspotted from the world, and do His will from the heart. If you would know His plan for your life, begin where He has plainly spoken, and seek to be obedient in what is already revealed, and the next step will become clearer.
There is also a providential will of God which we should always consult, guidance which comes from the circumstances that surround us and from the doors He opens and shuts. It is foolish for a man to say, I will go, I will do this or that, as though he could both propose and dispose without asking God's consent at all. Rather let your heart always feel, though you do not always speak it, If the Lord wills, I will go or I will stay. Bring your desires before Him and say, I will not even wish for gain or change or direction unless I can be promoting the will of God by it.
And remember this, that though the will of man is not ignored, the work of the Spirit, which is the effect of the will of God, is to change the human will, and so make men willing in the day of God's power, working in them to will and to do of His good pleasure. Therefore pray not only for light to your mind, but for a changed and softened will, that you may be made willing to receive the truth and to obey it when it comes. Whatever your desire may be, tell Him plainly. You are not omniscient and therefore your will can never be wiser than His, but you are His child and therefore your desire shall be very prevalent with Him when it is offered in submission to His wisdom.
So come as you are and take the water of life freely, for whosoever will, let him take it. Come to Christ Himself, who is the sum and substance of all revelation, and ask the Spirit to open your eyes to see Him in the Word. Be much in prayer, be much in the Scriptures, wait upon the Lord in quietness, and seek counsel from those who walk faithfully with Him. He will not leave His purpose half accomplished in you.
May the Lord grant you a clear sight of His revealed will, a humble submission to His sovereign will, and a tender heart made willing by His Spirit, and may the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you till He guides you into all truth and brings you safely to His glory.

Your cry for understanding, clarity and truth, and for the Holy Spirit to touch your heart according to the Father's will in Jesus' name, is itself pleasing to God. He desires that you know His will and walk in it.
The Scriptures teach that true understanding does not come from human reasoning alone, but needs revelation from above and a well ordered soul to receive it. This revelation is not given to those who trust in their own wisdom or seek to establish their own righteousness, but to those who remain humble as little children before God. Therefore keep a humble and teachable heart, willing to be taught and willing to believe, for whether we will be taught is a matter of our own deliberate choice. God hides His truth from the proud and reveals it to the lowly, not because He is arbitrary, but because pride closes the heart while humility opens it.
You have prayed rightly, Your will be done, Father. Hold fast to that prayer, and add to it your own part as well. We need both, our part and God's part, if we are to be saved and guided. Do not put prayer without obedience, nor obedience without prayer. Grace has already freed you from far greater evils and made you a friend of God through Jesus Christ, by whom alone we have remission of sins, sanctification, participation of the Spirit, adoption and eternal life. Now that you are His, continue to contribute your share through faithful obedience while looking to Him for grace. Faith, hope and love are the abiding things, greater even than signs, and love is the greatest of all.
So seek clarity in this way. Give thanks to God not only for your own blessings but in all things, continue in prayer, and walk in love toward others. Read the Scriptures daily, for there God has made His will plain. Obey what you already know to be His will, and the next step will become clearer. Turn away from envy, resentment and reliance on your own understanding, and ask the Lord to make your heart ready to receive what He shows you.
I pray for you now, that the Father who gives wisdom generously would grant you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, that the Holy Spirit would touch your heart with truth, steady your mind, and guide your steps into all that is holy and pleasing to Him. May He give you peace as you trust His plan, strength to do His will as it becomes clear, and confidence that His grace will not fail you as you seek Him with your whole heart in Jesus' name.
