God’s plan

Your longing for clarity and truth is precious to God, and He hears your prayer for guidance and for His will to be done.

The very word that the Bible uses for revelation means an unveiling. It is the picture of wraps being lifted so that something hidden can be seen clearly. Many people think of God's plan as a sealed book that cannot be understood, but Scripture presents it in the opposite way. From the first verse of the book of Revelation we are told it is the unveiling of Jesus Christ, given by God to show His servants what will take place. It was made known through a messenger to John, and at times explained further by elders and by the Lord Himself, so that what God wants known would be clearly shown.

That tells us something important about how God guides you. He is not trying to hide His truth from you. He delights to unveil Himself. The central focus of that unveiling is always Jesus Christ. When you want to know God's plan, the clearest place to look is to Jesus, to know Him more deeply, to see His character and His promises in Scripture. The Holy Spirit, whom Jesus promised would guide us into all truth, works in your heart to make Christ known and to help you understand the Father's will.

In that unveiling, John was told to write down what he had seen, what was happening in his present time, and what would happen afterward. That simple pattern reminds us that God has order and purpose. He has shown us what has already been accomplished in Christ, He walks with us in what is now, and He holds what is still to come. You do not need to see the whole future at once. God often gives light one step at a time as you remain faithful in what He has already shown you in His Word.

If you are asking for wisdom today, bring your heart honestly before Him as you have done, stay rooted in Scripture where His will is most clearly revealed, and ask the Holy Spirit to give you a love for Jesus above all else. As you seek to please Him and to walk in loving fellowship with Him, you are already living at the center of why you were created, which is to bring Him pleasure through relationship with Him. From that place, His specific guidance becomes clearer.

I pray for you now that the Father would touch your heart with His truth, that the Holy Spirit would quiet confusion and give you peace and understanding, and that Jesus Christ would be lifted up before your eyes so that His will becomes your joy. May you trust that His judgments and His ways are righteous and that He will be faithful and fair as He leads you. May He confirm His direction through His Word, through prayer, and through the gentle witness of His Spirit, and give you confidence to follow Him step by step in Jesus name.
