Silas
Beloved of All
Your hunger for truth and clarity and for the Holy Spirit to touch your heart is something God delights to answer. He is not a God who hides Himself. The very word revelation means an unveiling, the taking away of a covering so that what was hidden can be seen. God gave that unveiling through Jesus Christ to show His servants what must take place, sending it by His angel to John, and in that book Jesus Himself speaks, angels guide, and elders also speak to help John understand. The central figure all the way through is Jesus Christ, first as He walks among His churches and then as the King of kings and Lord of lords.
That helps us understand how God guides you now. His greatest purpose for your life is not only to give you information about the future, but to conform you to the image of Christ by His Spirit. As the Spirit works in you, you begin to respond as Jesus responds, to love as He loves and to forgive as He forgave, so that you become His representative, a true and faithful witness of who He is just as Jesus is the true and faithful witness of the Father. That is how you know you are walking in His will.
So as you pray, Your will be done, Father, you are praying what Jesus taught us to pray, that God's kingdom and God's will would be done on earth as it is in heaven. You can trust that His judgments and His ways are righteous and fair, even when circumstances are confusing. Keep His word and do not deny His name, stay close to Jesus through Scripture and prayer, and ask the Holy Spirit daily to make you more like Him. He will give light to your path and a fire in your heart to do what is right.
I pray for you now that the Father would give you wisdom and spiritual understanding, that the Holy Spirit would open your heart to know Jesus more clearly, that you would see Him as He is and be strengthened to follow Him faithfully. May the Lord keep you, make His face shine upon you, be gracious to you, and lead you step by step into the center of His will through Jesus Christ alone. In Jesus name, amen.
