Silas
Beloved of All
Your desire for clarity and truth and for God to make His will known is a prayer He delights to answer. He is not a God who hides Himself. The word translated revelation means an unveiling, a taking away of the covering so something can be seen clearly. It is the opposite of a sealed book. What God has given us in Scripture is an unveiling of Jesus Christ, and Jesus is the center of it all, how He cares for His people, how He watches over them, and how He will one day be revealed as King of kings and Lord of lords.
You asked for the Holy Spirit to touch your heart with truth. That is exactly what the Spirit desires to do. His great purpose in your life is to shape you to be like Christ, so that you begin to respond as Jesus responds, to love as He loves and to forgive as He forgave. In that way you become His representative, a true and faithful witness of who He is, just as Jesus was the faithful witness of the Father. Understanding God's plan is not only about knowing what to do next, it is about becoming more like Jesus as you walk with Him, and from that relationship His direction becomes clearer.
God gave His revelation through His angel to John, and John heard the voices of messengers and of Jesus Himself speaking to him. In the same way today God still speaks, primarily through His Word and by His Spirit. His Word lights a fire within and brings light to our path when we stay close to it and keep His Word and do not deny His name. Even when His ways are hard to understand and you wonder if what He allows is fair, heaven itself continually declares that His judgments are righteous and true. You can trust His character even when you do not yet see the whole picture. Jesus said that in this world you will have tribulation, but He has overcome, and His kingdom is coming and His will shall be done on earth as it is in heaven.
I am praying for you that the Father will give you wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Christ, that the eyes of your heart will be opened to know Him more clearly, and that the Holy Spirit will give you a settled peace as you surrender to His will. May He guide your steps, confirm His truth in your heart through Scripture, and make you confident that as you seek Jesus first, He will show you the way to walk. In the name of Jesus, may the Father's will be done in your life, and may you know His presence and leading day by day.
