We join with you in asking for God's perfect will to be done and for His truth to be made clear to your heart, and we thank you for calling upon the name of Jesus as you seek Him.

We understand the deep longing for clarity, understanding, and revelation concerning God's plan. It is a good and godly desire to want to know His ways and to be led by His Spirit. Scripture assures us that God delights to guide His children and to reveal Himself to those who earnestly seek Him. For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11. His plans for you are not to confuse you but to give you hope, and He promises to direct your steps as you trust Him.

The Lord does not leave us to figure out His will in our own strength. He has given us His Holy Spirit and His Word to lead us into truth. However when he, the Spirit of truth, has come, he will guide you into all truth, for he will not speak from himself, but whatever he hears, he will speak. He will declare to you things that are coming. John 16:13. Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path. Psalm 119:105. When we lack wisdom and understanding, we are invited to ask Him directly. But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. James 1:5. We are also called to surrender our own understanding and acknowledge Him in everything. Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6. And He lovingly promises, I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go. I will counsel you with my eye on you. Psalm 32:8.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we lift up this dear one before Your throne of grace in the mighty name of Jesus. We ask that You touch this heart with Your truth by Your Holy Spirit. Remove any confusion, doubt, or heaviness, and pour out clarity, understanding, and revelation according to Your perfect will. Open the eyes of understanding to see Your plan and Your purpose clearly. Give wisdom liberally as You have promised, and guide each step so that Your will alone is done. Help this dear one to trust You with all the heart, to rest in Your peace, and to hear Your gentle voice leading into all truth. Let Your Word be a lamp that illuminates the next step, and let Your Spirit bear witness to what is from You. We thank You that You hear us when we call, for You have said Call to me, and I will answer you, and will show you great things, and difficult, which you don’t know. Jeremiah 33:3. We receive Your answer by faith and give You all the glory. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to seek Him daily through prayer and through reading His Word, for that is where His will is most clearly revealed. Be still and wait patiently for Him to unfold His plan in His perfect timing, knowing that He is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in you.

We appreciate you sharing this longing so openly. Wanting clarity and truth and to know the Father's will is a good and honest place to be, and we are glad you brought it to Him so directly.

It makes sense that you are asking for revelation and for the Holy Spirit to touch your heart. When we want to be sure we are following God's plan, the waiting and not yet seeing can feel heavy. We have found that guidance often comes more like light for the next step than a full map all at once, as we keep walking closely with Him, listening and staying rooted in what He has already shown us.

One simple thing that may help in this season is to narrow your prayer to the one or two decisions most on your heart right now. Write them down plainly, bring them to the Lord each day without rushing, and then talk them through with a trusted pastor or mature believer who knows you well. That combination of quiet prayer and wise counsel often brings steadiness and helps test what we sense.

Father, we lift our friend to You in Jesus name. Touch their heart with Your truth, quiet any confusion, and give clear wisdom for each next step according to Your will. Help them to know Your presence and leading day by day. Amen.

Your longing for understanding and clarity is itself a gracious work, for of His own will He begets us with the Word of Truth, and the work of the Spirit is to change the human will and make men willing in the day of His power, working in them to will to do of His own good pleasure.

You ask for truth and revelation, and I would urge you, be not content unless you get the Truth from the mouth of God. Say in your spirit, I will not be comforted unless God Himself shall comfort me. I want chapter and verse for that which I receive as Gospel. The Inspired Word from the first word of Genesis to the last line of Revelation will never mislead you. It will tell you the truth as to your condition before God, as to what you are to believe and what you are to do. Believe in a real Fall, and then you will prize a real Atonement, and by that real Atonement a real pardon through Jesus Christ alone, for there is permanence in God's salvation and it will never fade.

Know this also, that all things are under regulation and have an appointed place in God's plan, and nothing happens but what He permits or ordains. As surely as God's will is the axle of the universe, as certainly as His will is the great heart of providence sending its pulsings through even the most distant limbs of human act, so in grace let us rest assured that He is King, willing to do as He pleases, having mercy on whom He will have mercy. Here we find that the preservation, the perseverance and the eternal glory of His people rests upon His will.

There is a revealed will which we must not violate, and there is a Providential will which we should always consult, which comes from the circumstances that surround us. Do not make up your mind that you will move, or that you will not move, but wait for guidance from God as to what He would have you do. Never be too positive in your expectations, and do not say as the foolish do, We will go, we will buy, we will sell, we will get gain, as if you could both propose and dispose without asking God's consent at all. Rather let your heart always feel, I will go, or I will stay, if it is the will of God, and you will not even wish for any gain unless you can be promoting the will of God by getting it.

Therefore keep to this school. Search the Scriptures daily, bring every desire before the Savior who hears you and will attend to it, and ask according to His wisdom and not your own, for you are not omniscient and your will can never be wiser than His. Tell Him plainly what you would have Him do for you, and submit all to His sovereign pleasure, praying as you have prayed, Your will be done, Father, in Jesus name.

May the Lord give you a song in the night even while you wait, and may His promise which may tarry but never fails, cheer your heart. May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you, to guide, to keep, and to make His will plain to you step by step as you walk uprightly before Him.
