There is no truth in God’s salvation to you unless there is truth in your sinnership. You who have really transgressed, you are the men and women for whom there is Truth in God’s salvation, but if there is no truth in your sinnership, there is, to you, no Truth in Christ’s salvation. You have not learned the Truth of God’s salvation if you do not believe in a real Atonement. True faith brings a real pardon. If you have received the Truth of God’s salvation, you are really forgiven. There is one sweet proof which we sometimes have of the Truth of God’s salvation and that is, our sense of sonship. These are testing times, but it is then that you know the Truth of God’s salvation!
Has God made known any Truth in His Word? Then it is invested with Divine authority! If it is God’s Truth that I declare to you, if God Himself speaks it through my lips, you will disregard it at your peril. But if we look at the original state of God’s people, we shall gaze upon a very gloomy picture. Yet this portrait reveals the state in which every unconverted man is tonight, the state in which all of us, who are now saved, once were! We were not God’s people, that is to say, we had not God’s approval. Their thoughts were contrary to God’s thoughts, their ways were such as God could not endure, their speech grated in His ears, they followed the devices and imaginations of their own hearts! The blood of Jesus Christ, God’s dear Son, cleanses us from all sin! Paul challenges the whole universe to lay anything to the charge of God’s elect, for God has justified them.
O God, You have taught me from my youth. No man may control you, but God has never given liberty to your thought or to your understanding to be free from His government. He was chastened, but he was never cast out, he still continued as God’s pupil. God’s work that David saw was very much work in himself, work for himself and work in other men’s hearts. Being taken into the School of God, he was made to observe things, he had object lessons put before him and he learned to read God’s work. And as he saw it, he wondered.
You are not Omniscient and, therefore, your will can never be wiser than His, but you are God’s child and, therefore, your desire shall be very prevalent with Him. Ask what you will, and it shall be done unto you. Are not God’s mercies so rich that they are like diamonds of the first water and jewels beyond all price? Surely there should be no need to press the exhortation, we do not ask enough. Let the riches of God’s Glory, rather than the meanness of your own estate, measure the compass of your requests, when He says, What do you want Me to do for you?
Here, in the midst of this world, you and I, if we are truly born again from above, are strangers and pilgrims. Thus God’s chosen ones constitute a people that shall dwell alone, they shall not be numbered among the nations. He has made them to be His portion, for the Lord’s portion is His people. Sanctification is the great open separator of Christians from the world! Of His own will He begat us with the Word of Truth, that we should be a kind of first fruits of His creatures. We are His creatures, but we are better than His other creatures, for He has made us twice over! Oh, to have our ears unstopped that we may hear every syllable of the Truth of God gladly, cheerfully, retentively!
It is decision for Christ and His Truth that has the greatest power in the family and the world, too. This decision should lead us to cast in our lot with God’s people as well as with Himself, for Ruth said, Your people shall be my people. She might have said, You are not well spoken of, you Jews, you Israelites. The Moabites, among whom I have lived, hate you. Will you thus cast in your lot with God’s people and, though they are spoken against, will you be willing to be spoken against, too? I know a great many different sorts of people and, after all, I shall be quite content to be numbered with God’s people, as I see them even in His visible Church, rather than to be numbered with any other persons in the whole world! They are God’s people, even if they have a great many faults and imperfections, and I am going to join them.
Every witness is required to speak the Truth of God, the whole Truth and nothing but the Truth. Christian, as a witness for God, do this. Speak the Truth, and let your life be true as well as your words. Speak in your life the Truth of God and let it be the whole Truth, too. Proclaim for God all the Truth as it is in Jesus and let your life proclaim the whole teaching of Truth. Let it be nothing but the Truth. And though they speak the Truth of God with their lips, they speak falsehoods with their hands. Suppose, for instance, I draw a miserable face and I say, God’s people are a blessed people. Nobody believes me because my face tells a falsehood while my mouth utters a truth! Let us remark, concerning Christ’s life, that He witnessed the Truth of God, the whole Truth and nothing but the Truth. If you want to have a witness to every attribute of God, only read the four Evangelists and there you have it! Beloved, would you see God’s Truth? Look into His side and see there the sacred mystery of God’s hatred for sin, a hatred so deep that He spared not His own Son, but delivered Him because of sin! Never could there be a clearer Witness than the bleeding Jesus, of God’s hatred to sin! Above all, read Christ’s witness to God’s love.
The whole end to which we drive is this, May God enable us all to see that our salvation is in Him! And can He have taught me to trust in His name, And thus far have brought me, to put me to shame? That brand, taken out of the fire, shall be exhibited in Heaven as a proof of what God’s Almighty Grace can do! God’s mercy is extended very freely to such sinners as these, but there is a wonder which I do not often see. I do see it, though not often, I wish I could. It is when a self-righteous religious man gets saved.
To make jewels for Christ’s crown is God’s work and God’s work alone! We might preach until our tongues grew dumb and men’s ears grew deaf, but not a living soul would ever receive Divine Grace by our talk alone, the Spirit must go with the Word of God, or it is so much wasted breath! Sinner though you are, if you come beneath the Cross and trustingly look up to God’s dear Son, you shall be saved!
In the matter of doctrinal truth, buy the truth. Holy Scripture is the standard of the Truth of God. To the law and to the testimony; if they speak not according to this Word, it is because there is no truth in them. Your Word is Truth. But buy experimental Truth. I mean Truth within, the Truth experienced. See that this is real Truth. Buy only the Truth. Do not buy the glittering stuff they call truth. Never mind the label, look to see if it is the Truth of God. Bring everything that is propounded as the Truth of God to the test, to the trial. If it will not stand the fire of God’s Word, then do not buy it! Buy only the Truth. Buy all the Truth. Buy the Truth at any price and buy the Truth now. You need the Truth of God and you will never be received by God at last unless you bring the Truth in your right hand. No, buy the Truth and you shall commend it afterwards, and your commendation shall be worth the hearing. And, I pray you, do not stand content with merely knowing about the Truth. Oh, how much some of you know! How much more you know than even some of God’s people!
That is the Truth of God that first and foremost strips you of all hope in yourself and brings you as a real sinner to a real Savior. Do you believe in a real Fall? You who have really transgressed, you are the men and women for whom there is Truth in God’s salvation, but if there is no truth in your sinnership, there is, to you, no Truth in Christ’s salvation.
Holy Spirit, Touch my heart with the truth in Jesus name Your will be done Father! In Jesus name

God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, wisdom, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, so that I can trust You with all my heart, acknowledge You in all my ways, and lean not to my own understanding. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.
