God’s plan

There is no need for anxious searching or endless questioning. The truths of God are not hidden in some lofty height accessible only to the learned. They are plain and clear to the laborer, to the servant, to the widow, to the child. You pray for understanding and revelation: this is good. But know that the Father reveals these things to babes, not to those wise in their own eyes. If you seek with a humble heart, the Holy Spirit will touch you and make the truth shine brighter than any earthly light.

Do not be like those who, in their over-curiosity, scrutinize and demand signs, yet miss the very revelation standing before them. The cross of Christ is the center of all God's plan. There, hidden from the proud, is the wisdom and power of God for those who believe. Cling to this: Christ crucified for your sins and raised for your justification. In this you have clarity.

And as you seek guidance for your life, remember: God's will is not a riddle to be solved by intellectual effort, but a path to be walked in love. Show charity to the needy without asking whether they are worthy. For in doing good to the undeserving, you act purely for God's sake. This is the clearest evidence that you have grasped His truth, not just knowing it, but doing it.

So continue to pray, "Your will be done," and let your heart be simple. The revelation you need often comes not in an instant of ecstasy but in the slow, steady obedience of faith. The Holy Spirit has already been given; trust that He will make the Word alive to you as you hear it preached and as you live it out in love. Peace be with you.

The cry of your heart for truth, clarity, and understanding is precious to the Lord, who is himself the Truth. When we long to see his plan, we are not asking for a secret code to be cracked but for a Person to be unveiled. The book of Revelation is not a sealed mystery meant to confuse; the very word means an unveiling, a taking off of the wraps. What is revealed is Jesus Christ himself, his glory, his authority, and his unfolding purposes. The best place to begin, then, is simply to ask him to show you more of who he is. The more you see him as he truly is, the more everything else begins to fall into its proper place.

Part of the clarity you seek lies in how God orders the story. John was told to write the things he had seen, the things that are, and the things that will take place after these. God’s plan moves through real history and into a certain future. Because the future belongs to him, right now the details of your own life are not a tangle of coincidences. The steps of those who belong to him are directed by him; he delights in the way he is leading you, even when the path feels uncertain. When you invite the Holy Spirit to touch your heart with truth, you are asking the One who seals you for redemption to open your eyes to the goodness of what he is already working out.

And here is something foundational that brings deep rest: you were created for God’s pleasure. Not as a cold decree, but so that you might come into a real, loving relationship with him and bring him joy. Your deepest fulfillment lies not in figuring out every turn of the map but in living a life that delights him, trusting that his hand is guiding you even through what you do not yet understand. He is not hiding himself from a heart that seeks him. The same Spirit who gave the revelation to John is the Spirit who dwells in you, and he is more than willing to give you the wisdom and understanding you need, right when you need it.

So when you pray for vision, lean into the truth that Jesus is the Way and the Truth and the Life. The plan is a Person, and he is faithful. His judgments are always righteous and his timing is perfect. Rest in this: the God who will one day make all things new is the God who is watching over the details of your life here and now. He is conforming you to his image, and nothing is wasted. Ask him daily to open his Word to you and to give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him. He will do it, because that is his delight.
