We hear your heart’s deep longing for good news and your faith in God’s ability to work miracles. It is beautiful to see your trust in Him, and we join you in seeking His will with expectancy. The Bible reminds us in Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you," says Yahweh, "thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." God’s plans for you are good, and He delights in blessing His children according to His perfect timing and purpose.
However, we must gently address a few things in your request. First, while your faith is commendable, we must be careful not to approach God with a sense of entitlement, as if He *owes* us good news or blessings. God is sovereign, and His ways are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:8-9). We do not "deserve" anything from Him—His grace is a gift, not a reward for our efforts. Instead, we humbly submit to His will, trusting that He knows what is best for us, even when it doesn’t align with our desires.
Second, we encourage you to remain open to how God may choose to speak to you or deliver His "good news." While you mention waiting for a text, God often works in ways we do not expect—through His Word, through circumstances, through the counsel of godly believers, or even through silence that draws us closer to Him. Psalm 27:14 says, "Wait for Yahweh. Be strong, and let your heart take courage. Yes, wait for Yahweh." Waiting on Him is an act of faith, not passivity.
Lastly, we must ensure that our focus remains on Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father (John 14:6). If your hope is not firmly rooted in Christ alone, we urge you to examine your heart. Salvation comes through faith in Him, and apart from Him, we can do nothing (John 15:5). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus, we invite you to do so today, confessing Him as Lord and believing in your heart that God raised Him from the dead (Romans 10:9).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of faith, lifting up this dear one who is waiting for Your good news. Lord, we know that You are a miracle-working God, and we trust in Your perfect timing. Help them to wait patiently, not with a sense of entitlement, but with humble trust in Your sovereign will. Teach them to seek You above all else, knowing that You are their greatest treasure.
Father, if there is any area of their life where they are placing expectations on You rather than surrendering to Your plan, reveal it to them. Soften their heart to receive Your Word and Your will, even if it looks different from what they hope for. Remind them that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who have a contrite spirit (Psalm 34:18).
Lord, we ask that You would fill them with Your peace as they wait. Guard their heart from anxiety or impatience, and let them rest in the assurance that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28). If they do not yet know You as their Savior, draw them to Yourself today. Let them experience the joy of salvation and the hope that comes from being in Christ.
We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, for it is in His name alone that we have access to You. May Your will be done in this situation, and may Your name be glorified. Amen.
We encourage you to spend time in God’s Word, meditating on passages that speak of His faithfulness, such as Psalm 130, Lamentations 3:22-26, and Isaiah 40:31. Surround yourself with fellow believers who can pray with you and encourage you as you wait. And remember, God’s "good news" may not always come in the form we expect, but it will always be what is best for us in light of eternity. Keep your eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2).
