God’s intervention

Thank you for sharing your request and for your honesty about struggling in nursing school. I am praying for you, that God will intervene, make a way where it feels hard to see one, and give you strength and clarity for each step ahead.

Nursing is a demanding calling. You are learning to be a physician of the body in a sense, to care for others in their weakness, and that training is meant to be serious and stretching, like a school that prepares you for greater service. It is understandable to feel weary under that weight, and God sees both your desire to serve and the pressure you carry.

Scripture encourages us to pray at all seasons and to watch with perseverance. You have heard of the widow who kept coming until she was heard, and the friend who knocked at midnight until the door was opened, and the mother who kept pleading for her daughter until the Lord answered. They teach us that even when we feel unworthy or tired, we can keep bringing our need to God with importunity, and He hears. He often uses perseverance itself to form us and to show that His help is real.

I pray that He will sustain you in this season, that He will give you wisdom for your studies, steadiness for exams and clinical work, rest for your body and peace for your mind, and that He will remind you daily that your labor is not in vain. When the work feels overwhelming, try to portion it out faithfully, day by day, guarding what you have already gained while you acquire what is new, and bring each task to the Lord in prayer without ceasing.

Let me pray for you now. Father in heaven, I lift up this student to You. You know the struggle in nursing school, the long hours, the pressure to learn and to care well. Make a way where there seems to be no way, grant understanding, endurance, and encouragement, and provide the help and support that is needed. Give a renewed sense of Your presence and Your purpose in this work, and let perseverance bear fruit. Strengthen faith and grant peace, and help each day to be lived for Your glory through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Please keep seeking Him and keep pressing forward. He is faithful to hear those who call on Him, and He will give you what you need for today.
