Thank you for bringing us together in prayer through the model prayer that our Lord Jesus Christ taught us. Let us pray with you in Jesus' name:
Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. We come before You, acknowledging Your holiness and Your sovereignty. Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.
Let us encourage one another to pray in this manner, as Jesus taught us. Jesus instructed us:
When you pray, you shall not be as the hypocrites, for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Most certainly, I tell you, they have received their reward. But you, when you pray, enter into your inner room, and having shut your door, pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. (Matthew 6:5-6, WEB)
Beloved, remember that our prayers are not to be a show for others, but a personal and intimate conversation with our Father. Let us always pray with humility, sincerity, and faith. Let us also ensure that we forgive others as we seek God's forgiveness, for Jesus said:
For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. (Matthew 6:14-15, WEB)
Finally, let us always pray in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is through Him that we have access to the Father. As it is written:
For through him we both have our access in one Spirit to the Father. (Ephesians 2:18, WEB)
And in all things let us give thanks, asking and supplicating in His name, Jesus Christ our Lord.
