We join you in praying the Lord's Prayer, a model for how we should approach God, acknowledge His sovereignty, and present our needs before Him. Let us pray together:
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your Kingdom come. Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors. Bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For yours is the Kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen. Matthew 6:9-13 (WEB)
This prayer teaches us to first honor God's name and seek His kingdom and will before presenting our needs. It reminds us to trust God for our daily provisions and to live a life of forgiveness, just as we desire to be forgiven. It also encourages us to rely on God's strength to resist temptation and to find deliverance from evil.
We are reminded that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. As it is written in John 14:6 (WEB), Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And in Acts 4:10-12 (WEB) it is written, in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth ... And in none other is there salvation, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved.
As we pray together, let us ensure that our needs and desires align with God's will and bring honor to His name. Let us also remember to extend forgiveness to others, trusting that God will also forgive us. As we seek deliverance from temptation and evil, let us put on the whole armor of God, standing firm in the faith. (Ephesians 6:10-18 WEB)
We encourage you to continue praying according to this model, knowing that God hears and answers our prayers according to His will. Keep pursuing a life of holiness and forgiveness, and trust God to provide for your needs and protect you from evil.
Let us end with the words of 1 John 5:14-15 (WEB), This is the boldness which we have toward him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us. And if we know that he listens to us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him.
