We come before the Lord with a heart of intercession for you as you fulfill your election duty, seeking His guidance, strength, and wisdom. The weight of this responsibility is not lost on us, and we know that without God’s help, even the best efforts of man can fall short. Scripture reminds us in Proverbs 3:5-6, *"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths."* We pray that you would lean wholly on Him, not just in the big decisions, but in every moment of your service.
Father, we ask that You would go before this election process, ordaining every step according to Your will. Raise up officials who fear You, who seek justice, and who govern with integrity, as Your Word declares in Proverbs 29:2, *"When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice; when the wicked rule, the people groan."* Lord, let this election be a reflection of Your righteousness, where truth prevails and the voices of the people are heard with fairness. We pray for coworkers who are helpful, patient, and diligent, that they may work alongside you in harmony, as Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 tells us, *"Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up."*
We also lift up the environment in which you will serve. Lord, let the polling places be peaceful, orderly, and equipped with all that is needed to serve the public well. Calm any tensions, soften hearts, and let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard the hearts and minds of everyone involved (Philippians 4:7). We pray against any confusion, disruption, or malice, and ask that You would bind the work of the enemy, for we know that *"the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds"* (2 Corinthians 10:4).
For your personal needs, we ask that You would strengthen your body, mind, and spirit. Election duties can be long and taxing, but we trust in Isaiah 40:31, *"But those who wait for the Lord will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint."* Grant you wisdom to navigate every situation with discernment, patience, and grace. Let Your Spirit remind you that *"the king’s heart is in the Lord’s hand like the watercourses. He turns it wherever he desires"* (Proverbs 21:1), and that ultimately, You are in control.
Finally, we pray that the entire election would be completed peacefully, without incident, and in a manner that honors You. May the outcome reflect Your will, and may the people of the nation be united in seeking Your face for the days ahead. We declare that no weapon formed against this process will prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that Your purposes will stand.
In all these things, we pray with confidence, knowing that You hear us and that You are faithful to answer. We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone holds the government upon His shoulders (Isaiah 9:6). Amen.
