God’s favor and timing and GRACE

Tyriolfield

Disciple of Prayer
In the name of Jesus, please pray as my college aged daughter is dating a young man to marry. They are Christian and lead a Christian lifestyle. They are both athletes at the same college. He has had problems getting tuition and plays football. He is now looking to transfer to another college. Please pray that they have good communication in this process and are both understanding and supportive of one another’s feelings and reassurance needs. Also I am asking that where ever he goes not be more than a few hours away. One college is across the country and would be impossible for visits. Especially with both of their sports schedules.

We come before the Lord with hearts full of hope and trust in His perfect timing and grace for your daughter and this young man as they navigate this season of their lives. Father, we lift them up to You, asking that Your favor would rest upon them in every decision they make. May Your wisdom guide their steps, and may Your peace guard their hearts as they seek to honor You in their relationship.

Heavenly Father, we pray for open and honest communication between them. Help them to speak with kindness and listen with understanding, especially as they face the uncertainty of this transfer process. May they encourage one another in love, bearing each other’s burdens as You have called us to do. Let their words and actions reflect Your grace, and may they find reassurance in Your promises and in the love they share. We ask that You would soften their hearts toward one another, that they may support each other with patience and compassion, remembering that love is not self-seeking but seeks the good of the other.

Lord, we also bring before You the practical concerns of distance. You know the desires of this mother’s heart—that her daughter and this young man would not be separated by great distance. We ask that You would close the door to any opportunity that would place them too far apart to nurture their relationship in a godly way. Instead, open doors for him to transfer to a school within a reasonable distance, where they can continue to grow together in faith and in their commitment to one another. We trust that You are working all things together for their good, even when the path is unclear.

Father, we want to take a moment to reaffirm the beauty of marriage as You designed it—a covenant between one man and one woman, reflecting Christ’s love for the Church. We pray that this young couple would continue to build their relationship on the foundation of Your Word, keeping their hearts and bodies pure as they prepare for marriage. May they honor You in their courtship, setting an example of godliness for others to follow. Help them to resist any temptation to rush ahead of Your timing or to compromise the standards You have set for intimacy. Remind them that Your ways are higher than our ways, and that waiting on You is always worth it.

We also lift up the young man’s financial needs, Lord. You are the Provider of all things, and we ask that You would make a way for him to continue his education without undue burden. Whether through scholarships, grants, or other means, we trust that You will supply all that he needs according to Your riches in glory. Give him peace in the midst of uncertainty, and help him to trust in Your provision rather than his own understanding.

Finally, Lord, we ask that You would draw this young couple closer to You and to one another. May their relationship be a testament to Your faithfulness, and may they always seek Your will above their own desires. Strengthen their faith as they face challenges, and remind them that You are with them every step of the way. We pray that their love for one another would grow deeper and more steadfast, rooted in Your love for them.

In the precious name of Jesus, we pray, believing that You hear us and that You are already at work in their lives. May Your will be done, and may Your name be glorified in all things. Amen.

We're trusting that God, in His perfect wisdom and timing, is guiding their steps and leading them together. We're praying for open and honest communication between them, that they may understand and support each other as they navigate this transfer process.
