God's Fatherhood Cures Anxiety Jesus Taught

"For Your Father in Heaven Knows The Things You Have Need of before You Ask" (Matt 6:8)...

Here is Jesus' reason for teaching us to pray correctly: The Son of God knows God as His own Father and wants us to know Him that way, too. The Only-begotten Son wants us to know the Eternal Father like He does, so He teaches us all about Him because He knows what benefits having that understanding will have on our relationship with God as a Father and that that knowledge will add to our whole concept of prayer and life itself. He knows most our prayers tend to be "upside down," meaning, we don't pray out of a proper relationship with God as Our Father (or even consider Him that way) and our praying tends toward being "man-centered or anthropocentric" rather than "God-centered or Theocentric."

To rescue us from this, Jesus lovingly teaches us to forget our own needs briefly and teaches us how to see God as a Father, because He already knows all about our needs better than we do ourselves (Matt 6:8). He teaches we can call His Father, The God of Heaven, who does miracles in abundance, our Father. He is Perfect (Matt 5:48) and teaches both the Father's tender, specific concern as Father and His massive omniscience and power, being in Heaven, which has a panoramic view of all the galaxies of the universe He created as well as all the Angels that serve Him throughout the palaces and golden streets of Heaven and yet knows the number of hairs on our head: He is acquainted with our situations, cares about our concerns, and in fact knows all about them like a father would be well acquainted with the particular situations and concerns of all His children and have things in place for their future (Jer 29:11).

Firstly, by dismissing false method's and notions of prayer (praying the same thing many times out of a works mentality, or praying on street corners out of the wrong desire so as to appear "holy," Jesus teaches us to pray correctly by getting the focus of our prayer right: our audience is God His Father, who made heaven and earth (Gen 1:1). He grants us permission to address Him as our Father. He teaches us to realize He already knows our needs, and gives us God-centered priorities to pray to build our faith and to train us to honor God properly. He tells us to own His Father and His concerns foremostly as our own prior to irreverently throwing our concerns before the courts of Heaven without any thought or concern regarding the audience there. Solomon had already taught, "Guard your steps as you go to the house of God and draw near to listen rather than to offer the sacrifice of fools; for they do not know they are doing evil. Do not be hasty in word or impulsive in thought to bring up a matter in the presence of God. For God is in heaven and you are on the earth; therefore let your words be few" (Ecc 5:1-2). Jesus reminds us there is a type of protocol, even for the children of God when they approach "Almighty God," even though He is our Father, He is by no means our "jocular equal."

"Therefore Pray after This Manner" (Matt 6:9)...

He is a wise and loving Teacher, and gives us this manner of prayer (or Pattern, Manner, Way, Teaching, Form, Outline, Bullet Points) that seem to reverse the way we would normally pray, which is to throw our requests before the creator with no relationship with God similar to the way we would order "video on demand" or we would order something from Amazon, eBay, Taco Bell or even Chick-Filet. Therefore three God-focused priorities for to pray are prescribed that we may have a relationship with God with a perspective shared by God, as if he took us up on a high mountain, or in an airplane, or better yet: in a rocket far beyond space so we could see our little planet He made and see how small our problems are next to His omnipotence. The way Jesus does this is to free us from the little things that grip us and allow us to participate in the most grandiose, sublime and eternal themes of all the ages: The Father Himself and reminding us He is in a real place called Heaven (from which Jesus came Himself); The privilege of participating in praying the Holy Name be honored and purged from mis-conception, And the privilege of partnering with His desire that His eternal Kingdom be promoted, strengthened, increase and actually come to appear in all it's glory and fullness at His 2nd Coming; and the good-pleasure of His eternal Will and purpose would be known by us and done perfectly on this little planet, Earth, as it is being done perfectly in the rest of the entire universe and throughout all of Heaven (again, where Jesus has already walked and is now seated at the right hand of the Father)...

"Our Father in Heaven" (Matt 6:9)...

God is a loving Father who knows what is best for us. Our primary disease is that we have been lied to from the devil and society and do not know God as a Father. Remember we are fallen and are both redeemed and being transformed by the renewing of our mind, (Rom 12:2), but Jesus is not nor has ever been fallen, and clearly sees the Father. Our picture of God has been distorted by the father of lies, whose first sin was to cause doubt in God's Word, "did God really say," and first lie was that God's Word was not true "you surely shall not die" and His 2nd lie was God can't be trusted "for God knows when you eat from the tree you will be like Him, knowing good from evil" (Genesis 3:1-5). We have forgotten how our sin nature was lovingly sentenced to death and paid for with His own Only-begotten Son's death, how His resurrection occurred since He was not guilty and laid His life down in obedience to the Father, to redeem us from the curse and captivity of the devil (Heb 2:14-15), because the Father so loved the world that He gave Him as a sacrifice that whosoever believes in The Son would not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16). We are taught how the Holy Spirit regenerated us so we were "Born of God," and how secure that adoption is and what benefits that transfers to us as adopted children, born of God. To heal this disease, Jesus God's Eternal Son, who has always been in the Bosom of The Father, not only reminds us the Holy Spirit of Adoption is a gift from The Father ( Luke 11:13) and the Trinity fills us with The Spirit of Adoption but also bears witness with our spirit, (Rom 8:15; Gal 4:6 ), and proves God loves us by shedding the love of God abroad in our hearts by The Holy Spirit (Rom 5:5). He demonstrates and proves His love for us in this -- by the fact that He sent His Son to die for us even before we were saved, while we were yet still sinners (Rom 5:8). Jesus said "The Father Himself loves you because you believe He is the Messiah and know The Father sent Him into the World (John 16:27) , and knows and cares about all of our needs before we speak (since we under His care as children, given the status and title of Children of God [John 1:12; 1 John 3:1]). From His blessings, to His corrections, to open and closed doors, to our trials, even persecutions, even in death -- God is at work in us to perfect our faith and conform us to the image of His Son (Matt 5:10-12; Rom 5:3-5; Rom 8:18; 2 Cor 4:17; 2 Tim 3:12; Heb 12:1-14; James 1:2-4;1 Peter 1:3-9; 1 Peter 4:12-14; Heb 5:7-10; Rev 3:21), and reminds us that we are more important than lilies (that are splendidly clothed) and birds (that are well fed [Matt 6:25-33]). Jesus, you said, "no one knows the Father except the Son and those whom the Son chooses to reveal Him (Matt 10:27; Luke 10:22). I ask You to reveal Your Father more and more as most holy, most loving & all powerful (over sickness, sin, sha-tan and trials) so I know, trust and represent Him faithfully (1 John 4:17).

"Hallowed be Your Name!" (Matt 6:9)...

This prayer asks God that His Name would be made and kept Holy, special, be honored and be respected among us. Sadly, much reproach is brought on God's Name by the conduct of His children, just like a children's bad behavior can bring insult against the family name... The very thing we were created for was to "image God" and to show what He is like (Gen 1:27), as an image (or copy) should look like the original. As the author of Hebrews says of Jesus, "The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of His nature" (Heb 1:3), it is from that glory and high calling for which we were created, and from that height from which we have sinned and fallen short, and now literally have to ask the Father to help us do what we were originally created to due prior to the fall: Help us honor You and SHOW WHAT YOU ARE LIKE in our thoughts, words, deeds, speech, actions & reactions (1 Sam 2:30; Psalm 50:23; 1 Cor 10:31; Ps 19:14). Jesus knows the father perfectly, as well as The Bible, and that the Bible teaches that the Holy Spirit has revealed different Names for God in the Word and each name has meaning and shows different personalities and characteristics of God that have been revealed throughout redemptive-history: "The Lord Our Righteousness" (Jer 23:5-6); "The Lord Who Sanctifies" (Lev 20:8); "The Lord is Our Peace" (Judges 6:24); "The Lord is There" (Ezk 48:35); "The Lord Our Healer" (Ex 15:26); The Lord Our Provider" (Gen 22:14) "The Lord Our Shepherd" (Psalm 23:1) and "The Lord Our Banner;" (Ex 17:15). He is the Eternal, Ever Existent, "I AM THAT WHO I AM" (Ex 3:14); and revealed His Name to Moses as, "The Lord, The Lord God Gracious, Compassionate, Slow to Anger, Abounding in Love, Forgiving Iniquity, Transgression and Sin, Showing Mercy to Thousands of Generations but Punishing Those Who Don't Repent" (Ex 34:6-11). He takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked but is patient, not willing that any should perish, but that all would come to repentance and be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth (Ezekiel 33:11; 2 Peter 3:9; 1 Tim 2:3-4). And mostly, "God is LOVE" (1 John 4:8).

"Your Kingdom come!" (Matt 6:10)...

Your Kingdom is an Everlasting Kingdom and though it started small, will ultimately put an end to every other Kingdom but will itself both fill the whole Earth endure forever (Dan 2:44). May Your kingdom come to me & through me with the fruit of the Holy Spirit (Gal 5:22-23. Ps 45:4), gifts of the Holy Spirit [1 Cor 12. 1 Cor 14), power over darkness (Luke 11:20. 1 Thes 1:5) and open doors to proclaim the gospel of salvation (Col 4:3. Rev 3:7-8, Matt 28:19-20). May we be ones found looking forward to and hastening the day of Your appearing (2 Pet 3:12), our chance to meet You and see You as You are, so we will be made like You (1 John 3:1-3), our Exceeding Great Reward (Gen 15:1), when you come with all Your Saints and Holy Angels (Matt 25:31; 1 Thes 3:13; Jude 1:14-15; Rev 17:14; Rev 19:19-21; Rev 20:1-3; Rev 20:7-10).

"Your Will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven!" (Matt 6:10)...

May I and all believers know Your will, submit to it and do it perfectly and gladly as the angels do in heaven (Ps 103:20) best demonstrated by The Savior's life on Earth (Phil 2:5-11. Matt 26:39. Luke 22:42. Heb 5:7), even foreshadowed in His father, David's Humility (2 Sam 15:25-26). May Your will be done perfectly on the planet, in each nation and in every heart, that every knee would soon bow and every tongue confess Jesus Christ as Lord to the glory of God the Father (Phil 2:5-11) and that we would be filled with the knowledge of His will (Col 1:9), that is "the mystery of His will according to His good pleasure, which He purposed in Christ, the plan for the fullness of time, to bring all things in heaven and on earth together in Christ, (the plan that) in Him we were also chosen as God’s own, having been predestined according to the plan of Him who works out everything by the counsel of His will, that we might be to the praise of His glory" (Eph 1:9-12). That God would work all things together for our good since we love God and according to that purpose are called (Rom 8:28).

"Give us this day our daily bread!" (Matt 6:11)...

(I ask for spiritual nourishment from the Word, I can't live by bread alone, I need every Word that has proceeded forth from the Mouth of God (Deut 8:3. Matt 4:4. Luke 4:4), The Sum of Your Word is Truth (Ps 119:160), all Scripture is inspired by God (2 Tim 3:16), Sanctify me in the truth, Your Word is truth (John 17:17). I also request provision for the soul (MIND -- intellectual interests, reading & study, creative outlets, WILL -- again may my will be strengthened to DO according to Your good pleasure (Phil 2:13), and EMOTIONS -- fellowship with the Body of Christ (Matt 18:20. Heb 10:25), loving You more than all (Deut 6:5. Matt 6:33. Mark 12:30), receiving Your love (Rom 5:5. Eph 3:14-20), loving my neighbor (Lev 18:20. Mark 12:30-31) and even my enemies (Matt 5:44. Luke 6:27-28. Luke 23:34. Acts 7:60. Rom 12:14), Physical strength (health, exercise, proper diet & rest (1 Tim 4:8. 3 John 1:2) and Financial Provision and Blessing (1 Chron 4:10. 1 Tim 6:17).

"And forgive our sins, As we forgive those who sin against us" (Matt 6:12)...

I confess the sins I committed and confess the duties I omitted. I release everything anyone ever did to me (Matt 6:15) and especially specifics by specific people and pray for their spiritual promotion (Lev 19:18. Matt 5:44. Luke 6:27-28. Luke 23:34. Acts 7:60. Rom 12:14).

And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from evil! (Matt 6:13)...

Keep me from temptation to sin. Jesus warned the disciples to watch and pray in the Garden of Gethsemane so they wouldn't enter into temptation (Matt 26:41). Delieverance from evil is praying to be protected from hurt, harm, injury, sickness, sin, sha-tan himself and his underlings both spiritual and physical (John 17:15. 2 Thes 3:1-3. Rom 15:21). We are not wrestling against flesh and blood the Bible reminds us. The Armor of God in Eph 6:10-20 ends with keeping alert and praying for other believers all the time and also praying for preachers to have open doors. The best defense is a good offense! Pray & share Jesus! Quote Scripture like Jesus did when tempted (Matt 4, Luke 4).

"For It's Your Kingdom, It's Your Power and It's for Your Glory, Forever" (Matt 6:13)...

Your kingdom is and everlasting kingdom which shall put an end to all the other kingdoms but itself will last forever (Daniel 2:44), all power in heaven and earth is Yours (Matt 28:18. Eph 1:19. Phil 2:9-11. Heb 2:8. Rev 19:16), not unto us but to Your Name give Glory (Ps 115:1-3). In The Name of Jesus The Messiah, (John 14:13-14).

"Amen." (Matt 6:13)...

"For all of God's promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding "Yes!" And through Christ, our "Amen" (which means "Yes") ascends to God for his glory!" (2 Cor 1:20).

For if you forgive others for their transgressions, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions" (Matt 6:14-15).

Here is a litmus test to examine yourself if you are truly in the faith or not (2 Cor 13:5). If you have received the unconditional love and forgiveness of God when asking for mercy for the thousands of talents (debt we could never pay off) which we owed God, we should be so thankful that we will forgive the little fifty cents people owe us (See Matt 19:23-34). Even if it's Corrie TenBoom, she taught to forgive the Nazi soldiers that killed her sister and abused the population of the Nazi concentration camps in the book and movie, The Hiding Place.

If we can't forgive others we either probably haven't received salvation from our sins or at least have not seen the enormity of our sins next to a Holy God, or haven't been warned to see that forgiveness is a proof of salvation. It is expressly set forth as a requirement for salvation, “For if you forgive others for their transgressions, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions" (Matt 6:9-15); as hesitant as I am to write that, let God's Word be true though every man be a liar (Rom 3:4). "Blessed are the merciful," Jesus said, "they shall receive mercy" (Matt 5:7).

A forgiven heart forgives others easily and willingly, up to 70 X 7 times a day when they ask for it (Matt 18:21-22). If they don't ask for it, they are either proud or worse, blind to their own sins, but you have to try to approach them (Matt 5:23-25), they may or may not hear it, so if they do, great, if not, bring another, if they listen, great, if not, tell the church, (if the church actually gets involved -- Well, you just witnessed a miracle right there!)... If they admit it then, great, if not just pray for their spiritual advancement, wisdom and revelation and for their salvation just like you would any other sinner (Matt 18:15-17).

May the Word of The Lord run rapidly and be glorified (2 Thes 3:1-2), in Jesus' Name (John 14:13-14), Amen (2 Cor 1:20). If you feel this is beneficial, trustworthy and based on The Word of Biblical Scripture, please feel free to share it on any social media you please. Anonymity would be appreciated, thank you! (Matt 6:1 : )
