Thank You the Victory is the LORD's, Prov 21:31. You keep us from temptation, Lk 11:4, temptation and evil, Matt 6:13, evil people and the evil one, 2 Thes 3:2-3, John 17:15. By prayer and supplication with thanksgiving we let our requests be made known to God. And the PEACE of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus, Phil 4:6-7. In Jesus are all the promises, therefore Our Yes and Amen, 2 Cor 1:20, in Jesus' Name, John 14:13-14.

We join with you in this battle cry and we say amen to your intercession, for you have reminded us that the battle is not ours but God's.

We stand with you on the truth that He said, Don't be afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God's, 2 Chron 20:15. We agree together that greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world, 1 John 4:4, and that Christ in us is the hope of glory, Col 1:27. We thank our Father that those who are with us are more than those who are with the enemy, 2 Kings 6:16, and that the angel of Yahweh encamps around those who fear Him.

We hear your heart for true intercession and we pray for that same grace. We ask the Lord to make us watchmen on the walls who will never hold our peace day nor night, who give Him no rest, Isa 62:6-7. We ask for hearts that sigh and cry for all the abominations that are done, Ezek 9:4, and for grace to weep between the porch and the altar to spare Your people, Joel 2:17. For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, 2 Cor 10:4, and we are to stand in the power of truthful speech with weapons of righteousness on the right hand and on the left, 2 Cor 6:7.

We join you in asking for grace to pray and to fast with the fast that He has chosen, to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the bands of the yoke, and to let the oppressed go free, Isa 58:6. We pray this not as a sounding of a trumpet before men, but as a true humbling of our flesh to feed the Spirit, for we know our utter inability apart from Him. We pray that we may be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might and put on the whole armor of God, that we may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil, Eph 6:10-11. For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places, Eph 6:12.

So we take up the whole armor of God that we may be able to withstand in the evil day and having done all to stand, Eph 6:13. We stand having the belt of truth and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, Eph 6:14, and having fitted our feet with the preparation of the Good News of peace, Eph 6:15. Above all we take up the shield of faith, with which we will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one, Eph 6:16, and the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, Eph 6:17. We know this sword is the gospel itself, that Christ died for our sins to satisfy a holy God and that His righteousness is given to us as a free gift, so that we are born again and assured of salvation.

We pray as you have led us, with all prayer and petition praying at all times in the Spirit and being watchful to this end in all perseverance and requests for all the saints, Eph 6:18, and praying that utterance may be given to us in opening our mouth to make known with boldness the mystery of the Good News, Eph 6:19. We thank You that safety is of Yahweh, Prov 21:31, and we ask You not to bring us into temptation but to deliver us from the evil one, Matt 6:13, and to deliver us from unreasonable and evil men and to guard us from the evil one, 2 Thess 3:2-3, as Jesus prayed that You would keep us from the evil one, John 17:15.

Our Father in heaven, we thank You together that in nothing we are anxious, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving we let our requests be made known to You, and Your peace which surpasses all understanding will guard our hearts and our thoughts in Christ Jesus, Phil 4:6-7. We thank You that however many are the promises of God, in Him is the Yes and in Him is the Amen to the glory of God through us, 2 Cor 1:20, and that whatever we will ask in the name of Jesus, He will do, John 14:13-14.

We bind the work of the ancient serpent in Jesus' name knowing that the strong man must be bound to plunder his house, and we do this not by our own power but by prayer, fasting and the preaching of the cross and resurrection, trusting the One who has the key and who will bind that dragon, Rev 20:1-2. We ask for continued boldness and perseverance to war in prayer until Christ is formed and His victory is manifest. We pray all of this in the mighty and only saving name of Jesus Christ our Lord, amen.

We hear your heart in this, a deep desire to stand in the gap, to pray and fast in a real way, and to see God move against what is dark and broken. That hunger to intercede and to seek His presence is a work of His grace in you, and we thank God for it.

We want to encourage you to keep that burden in a steady, sustainable way. Growing in prayer and fasting is more like long training than a single intense effort. Small, faithful rhythms over time, regular time with the Lord, praying in community, staying rooted in the simple gospel, often bear more lasting fruit than trying to carry everything at once alone.

It can help to share this calling with a couple of trusted believers or a pastor who can pray with you, help you stay grounded, and help you discern how to pray and fast wisely. You were not meant to wrestle alone, and the church is a gift for that very reason. If you do sense the Lord leading you into extended fasting, it is wise to walk that out with pastoral guidance and, when needed, with a medical professional as well.

We are praying with you for strength to stand firm, for clarity, and for His peace to guard you as you keep seeking Him.

Father, thank You that You are greater and that You are near. We ask for grace for our brother/sister to keep seeking You with a humble and persevering heart, to be strengthened in You day by day, and to know Your peace and leading. We have read your supplication with great thankfulness and join our hearts with yours in this holy wrestling. There is in your prayer that which shows God has written intercession upon your heart, and wherever such a grace is found it is one of the most precious gifts of His grace to the age in which we live. You have done well to seize every advantage in pleading with God, laying hold upon His own promises and making them your argument before the throne.

You have rightly remembered that greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world, and that they that be with us are more than they that be with them. The eyes of faith may see Him still as our great Intercessor who always lives to make intercession for us, standing before His Father's throne though once despised and rejected. And you have rightly taken up both hands for the battle, with one hand not concealing the words of the Holy One, and with the other drawing near to God in powerful and prevalent intercession. This is the splendid perseverance of importunity of which the Scripture speaks, when the soul resolves that it will wait upon the Lord for He has made all things.

We rejoice that you ask for grace to sigh and cry over abominations, to weep between the porch and the altar, and to fast not as sounding a trumpet before men but as those who know their utter inability to deny the flesh apart from the Spirit. Such prayer is not of the flesh but of the Spirit Himself, for the Spirit helpeth our infirmities and maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. He never prompts us to ask anything contrary to the eternal purpose of God, and when we are led by Him we may know we are the sons of God to whom such help belongs.

You speak also of the whole armor of God, and we exhort you to stand firm therein. The Christian's standing is in an even place when kept by grace from outward sin and established inwardly by the Holy Spirit. That perseverance is secured by the promise of Christ, by the energy of the Spirit and by the faithfulness of God to His own covenant. Whether upon the hill or in the valley, our God is the same. He is not the God of the hills only but the God of the valleys also, and therefore able to deliver when the battle seems most fierce and the enemy most near.

Continue then in prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, preaching the pure gospel of peace as a sword in the hand, extinguishing the fiery darts with the shield of faith and resting in the blood of Him who died for sin and rose again. The battle is not yours but God's, and the victory is of the Lord. May He keep you from temptation and from the evil one, and may the peace of God which passeth all understanding guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus till He bring you to stand securely before Him.

Your prayer has been received and we have joined with you before the Lord, thanking Him with you that greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world, and that Christ in us is our hope of glory.

You have asked rightly for grace to stand in the true battle. This conflict is not with flesh and blood, not with men, but with devils and those unseen powers of wickedness. Therefore the armor that God gives suits this kind of warfare. It is not made of hides and steel, but of truth and righteousness and faith and love of wisdom. The Commander Himself stands by, ever ready to help, unconquerable, and He has furnished us with strong arms. What we need is a willing mind to take them up and to obey Him and to stand firm in our place.

You ask for grace to pray and to fast, and to put on the whole armor of God. This is good, but remember how God teaches us to use these gifts. Fasting and prayer are mighty, yet they must not be a boasting or a sounding of a trumpet before others. True fasting is light and winged. The one who prays as he ought and fasts has not many wants, and is not covetous, and is more ready for almsgiving. Such a one prays with wakefulness, quenches wicked desires, humbles his lifted soul, and rises above the earth as if on double wings, lighter than the winds. Nothing is mightier than a person who prays sincerely. But fasting brings comfort and release only when it is joined with kindness to others, with forgiving those who have offended us, with mercy to the poor, with truthful speech, and with a continual remembrance and confession of our own sins before God. For water will quench a blazing fire, and almsgiving and mercy help to purge sins, and forgiveness of others opens the way for our own forgiveness.

You also desire to intercede, to sigh and cry over what grieves the Lord, to weep between the porch and the altar, to wrestle with prayer and the Word as a sword. Take courage, for we do not intercede alone. Our Lord Jesus Christ ever lives to make intercession for us. He who died for our sins and rose again, who bore the wages of sin in our place that we might receive His righteousness as a free gift and be born again, now lives as our High Priest. Because He lives forever He is able to save to the uttermost all who come to God through Him. When we pray at all times in the Spirit with perseverance for all the saints, we are joining in His own priestly work.

So stand firm as you have asked. Stand firm with truth buckled around you and righteousness guarding your heart, with faith to extinguish the fiery attacks of the ancient serpent, with the gospel of peace studied and digested and ready on your feet, and with the Word of God as your sword. Take up these weapons that Christ Himself used on earth, prayer, fasting, preaching, teaching, loving, suffering, and communion with His Holy Spirit. Resist the schemes of the devil, and trust that the victory belongs to the Lord. He will keep you from temptation and deliver you from evil and from the evil one.

We pray with you that as you make your requests known to God with thanksgiving, the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus, and that utterance will be given to you to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel, in the name of Jesus in whom all the promises of God are Yes and Amen.

Your burden to stand in the gap and to weep over what grieves the heart of God is itself a gift from Him. True prayer does not start with us. God Himself puts the desire to pray in our hearts, He stirs love for others and for His purposes, and then we return to Him what He has first placed within us. The very longing you express to intercede, to sigh and cry over sin, to weep between the porch and the altar, and to wrestle in prayer is evidence that He is at work in you.

Prayer has more than one dimension. It is worship, simply becoming aware of the greatness and glory of God and giving Him reverence. It is petition, bringing our own needs honestly before our Father in heaven who wants to be to us whatever we need. And it is intercession, reaching beyond ourselves to bring a guilty world, our families, our communities and our nation before God that He might work. All three belong together, and worship must lead the way. When we begin with who God is, our petitions and our intercession stay anchored in His will.

That is why confession is so important. Without honest confession there is no forgiveness and no clear fellowship for prayer. Bring your own heart before Him first, agree with Him about sin, receive His cleansing, and then you can stand with confidence to intercede for others.

You asked for grace to fast and to pray. Fasting rightly understood is not an outward show to get God to notice us or to obligate Him to answer. It is not sounding a trumpet before others. It is a quiet, honest acknowledgment of our utter inability in ourselves to deny the flesh and to feed the spirit. We naturally take care of the body while the inner person starves, so the body is strong and the spirit is weak. Fasting reverses that for a season, so that the spirit is strengthened as we seek the Lord in prayer and in His Word. God always uses people who are people of the Word and people of prayer.

The battle you describe is real. Our wrestling is not against flesh and blood but against dark spiritual powers, against fallen spirits who rebelled with Satan and now blind the minds of those who do not believe. The god of this world has blinded eyes so people cannot see the truth of the gospel. Our weapons therefore cannot be carnal. They are mighty through God. They are spiritual weapons: the truth of the Word of God which is the sword of the Spirit, faith which quenches the fiery attacks of the evil one, and prayer in the Spirit which becomes a spiritual force in this spiritual conflict.

By these weapons we pull down strongholds that have been built up in the imaginations and thoughts of people, every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God. By prayer we can drive back the enemy from ground he holds by usurped authority, and we can ask God to open blinded eyes and set captives free in the authority of the name of Jesus. Daniel prayed and an answer was sent at once, yet the angelic messenger was opposed for twenty one days by spiritual powers until help came. That reminds us to persevere and not give up.

This is what it means to be strong in the Lord and to put on the whole armor He has provided so you can stand firm against the schemes of the devil. Stand firm with truth and with righteousness received by faith. Have your feet ready with the gospel of peace that offers reconciliation to enemies of God who are blinded. Take up the shield of faith to extinguish real attacks from that ancient serpent, and the helmet of salvation with the assurance that you are born again and kept by Him. Take the Word as your sword, the message that Christ died in our place to satisfy a holy God for the wages of sin and that His righteousness is given as a free gift to all who receive Him. Then pray at all times in the Spirit with perseverance, not only for yourself but for all the saints, and for boldness to make the mystery of the gospel known.

Remember the cycle of true prayer. It begins with God and His purposes which He makes known to our hearts, we utter them back to Him as prayer, and He then accomplishes them. The purpose of prayer is not to get our will done but to see His will done. Those who have denied themselves and taken up the cross to follow Jesus will find their prayers shaped by self denial and by the purposes of God.

You are right to rest in the promises you quoted. Greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world, and Christ in you is the hope of glory. There are more with us than with those against us. The battle belongs to the Lord, and the victory is His. He is able to keep you from temptation and to deliver you from evil and from the evil one. So bring your requests to God with thanksgiving, and His peace which passes all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Every promise of God is yes and amen in Jesus, and whatever we ask in His name according to His will He hears.
