God's 3rd Commandment

Captain Hugo

Servant
Dear Father in Heaven,

Please continue to bless us with wisdom and discernment imparted by Your Holy Spirit to recognize and reject the deceptively satanic language that surrounds us everywhere; that permeates every level of society, especially social media. Teach us to respond with God's holy words, not man's blasphemous ones.

“The words of the reckless pierce like swords, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.”

(Proverbs 12:18)

Whenever we are linguistically assaulted by ever-abundant expressions so blatantly and unashamedly (even considered to be trendy in this lost/last generation of the End Times) profaning God's name, either directly or euphemistically, grant us the wise strength to combat such spiritual attacks, and wage spiritual warfare in response!

“The wise in heart are called discerning, and gracious words promote instruction.”

(Proverbs 16:21)

As committed Christians, how can we not find offensive such minced oaths (not-so-subtle swear words) as in such expressions, expletives, abbreviations and disguised euphemisms such as, to name just a few common ones:

OMG - Oh My God!

OMGNA - Oh My God Not Again!

Gee! / Geez! - Jesus!

Doggone! - God Damn!

Cripes! - Christ!

Chrissakes! - For Christ's Sake!

Crikey! - Christ! (made famous by the infamous Australian crocodile hunter)

And a growing list of many more! ALL words that fly all around us like spiritual arrows piercing our godly heart! In other words, taking God's name in vain, prohibited by His Third Commandment!

“With his mouth the godless destroys his neighbor, but through knowledge the righteous escape.”

(Proverbs 11:9)

We can only look to You God for answers to strengthen our spirit, calm our hearts and raise our tongues in spiritual defense.

“She opens her mouth with wisdom, and on her tongue is the law of kindness.”

(Proverbs 31:26)

Dear Father, we pray that You may instill Your true and gentle Words of Grace within our nature to fill our minds and mouths with Your eternal wisdom.

“Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.”

(Colossians 4:6)

“The hearts of the wise make their mouths prudent, and their lips promote instruction. Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.”

(Proverbs 16:22-23)

Forever & ever, we pray for this in Jesus' name.

Amen!

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. We all hope that our prayers are answered in the way that we want. Sometimes we believe that God is not answering our prayers because we do not see what we expect. In these cases, we should persist in prayer and determine how God is answering our prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek him through his son, Jesus Christ.
