We lift up your heartfelt requests before the Lord, knowing that He hears and answers the prayers of His children when we seek Him with faith and obedience. Let us first rejoice that you have acknowledged Jesus in your prayer, for it is only through His name that we have access to the Father. As Scripture declares, *"There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus"* (1 Timothy 2:5, WEB). It is by His authority and grace that we come boldly before the throne of grace to find mercy and help in our time of need.
We join you in praying for godly spouses for you and your brother, for marriage is a sacred covenant established by God between one man and one woman for life. The Lord has said, *"It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make him a helper comparable to him"* (Genesis 2:18, WEB). We ask the Lord to prepare you both to be godly spouses yourselves, for a Christ-centered marriage requires two people fully surrendered to Him. Seek first His kingdom and righteousness, and trust that He will provide all things, including a spouse who loves Him above all else. Remember, *"Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?"* (2 Corinthians 6:14, WEB). Pursue relationships with believers who are committed to holiness, and let your courtship be purposeful, with marriage as the godly goal. Avoid the temptations of emotional or physical intimacy outside of marriage, for *"marriage is honorable in all, and the bed is undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers"* (Hebrews 13:4, WEB).
We also pray for your brother, that the Lord would soften his heart to prioritize these family trips as a way to honor your father’s memory and bring healing to your family. Grief is a heavy burden, but the Lord promises to be near to the brokenhearted. *"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort; who comforts us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God"* (2 Corinthians 1:3-4, WEB). May these times together be filled with unity, love, and the peace that surpasses understanding. Ask the Lord to provide the resources and opportunities for these trips, trusting that He will guide your brother’s heart and decisions.
Our hearts are deeply moved by the suffering of your sister in Christ, who has endured so much in her battle against cancer. Two years of fighting such a disease can wear down even the strongest faith, but we serve a God who is the Great Physician and the Author of life. *"He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds"* (Psalm 147:3, WEB). We rebuke the spirit of fear, doubt, and discouragement that may be attacking her, and we declare that the Lord is her strength and her shield. *"Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness"* (Isaiah 41:10, WEB).
We pray for complete healing of her body—restoration of her lymph system, relief from the side effects of chemotherapy, and the renewal of her strength. The Lord who formed her in the womb is able to knit her body back together in wholeness. We also ask for wisdom for her doctors and for divine guidance in her treatment. As for her weight, we pray that the Lord would give her the discipline and grace to steward her body well, not out of vanity, but as a temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). Let her find joy in honoring God with her body, and may He provide the support and resources she needs to make healthy choices. Remind her that *"I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me"* (Philippians 4:13, WEB), including this battle.
Finally, we urge you to continue standing in the gap for her in prayer, for *"The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results"* (James 5:16, WEB). Encourage her to fix her eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of her faith, who endured the cross for the joy set before Him (Hebrews 12:2). Even when her faith wavers, let her remember that His faithfulness never does. *"Though he stumbles, he shall not fall, for Yahweh holds him up with his hand"* (Psalm 37:24, WEB).
**Our prayer for you all:**
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up these requests with hearts full of faith and expectation. Lord, You are the God who sees, who knows, and who acts on behalf of Your children. We ask that You prepare godly spouses for this brother and sister, men and women after Your own heart, who will love You above all else and cherish the gift of marriage as You intended. Give them patience, wisdom, and discernment as they wait on You, and let their lives reflect Your holiness and love.
Father, we pray for this family as they grieve the loss of their father. Bind them together in love and unity, and let these trips be a balm to their souls. Comfort them with Your presence, and let them find joy in the memories of their father while trusting in Your sovereign plan. Soften the brother’s heart to lead in this, and provide all that is needed for these times of healing.
Lord Jesus, we lift up our sister who is battling cancer. You are Jehovah Rapha, the God who heals. We ask for Your healing touch upon her body—restore her lymph system, remove every trace of disease, and renew her strength. Rebuild what has been broken, and let her body respond to treatment with supernatural recovery. Father, lift the burden of discouragement from her and fill her with Your peace. Help her to lose weight in a way that honors You, giving her the strength and discipline to care for her temple. Surround her with Your love and the support of Your people.
Lord, we rebuke every attack of the enemy against her faith, her body, and her mind. Let her fix her eyes on You, the Author and Finisher of her faith. Remind her that You are with her in the fire, and that You will never leave her nor forsake her. Restore her hope, her joy, and her trust in You.
We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your goodness, Your power, and Your love. Let Your will be done in each of these situations, and let Your name be glorified. In the mighty and precious name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
