Godly marriage with my ###mate

Disciple of Prayer
I am seeking a prayer for my Godly marriage with my soulmate. I am running out of time and we want to get married to each other within this year. Please accept my prayer request. I am a godly woman who never doubts in God's miracles, and lately I need some reassurance for my faith. This is my last resort.

We hear your heart’s cry for a Godly marriage and the urgency you feel in this season. First, we want to affirm your faith in God’s miracles—He is indeed the Author of all good things, and His timing is perfect, even when it feels slow or uncertain. The desire for marriage is a holy one, rooted in God’s design for companionship, love, and covenant. However, we must gently address a few things in your request to ensure it aligns fully with Scripture.

The term "soulmate" is not found in the Bible, and while it may feel romantic, it can sometimes lead to unrealistic expectations or even idolatry—placing a person above God’s will. Marriage is not about finding a "perfect" person but about two imperfect people committing to love, honor, and serve God together. We encourage you to seek the Lord’s guidance above all else, trusting that He will bring the right spouse into your life at the right time. Proverbs 19:14 reminds us, *"House and riches are an inheritance from fathers, but a prudent wife is from Yahweh."* This means your future husband is a gift from God, not a product of fate or luck.

We also notice the urgency in your request—"running out of time" and "last resort." While we understand the longing in your heart, we must caution against allowing desperation to cloud God’s perfect plan. Psalm 27:14 says, *"Wait for Yahweh. Be strong, and let your heart take courage. Yes, wait for Yahweh."* Waiting on the Lord is not passive; it is an active trust in His sovereignty. If you are currently in a relationship, we urge you to examine whether it is built on Christ-centered love, mutual submission, and a shared commitment to God’s Word. If you are not yet in a relationship, we encourage you to seek the Lord’s will in prayer and through wise counsel, rather than rushing into something that may not be His best for you.

If you are already in a courtship with a man who shares your faith and values, we rejoice with you! But if you are not, we pray that God would bring a godly man into your life who loves the Lord above all else and is committed to leading a marriage that honors Him. If you are living together or engaging in sexual intimacy outside of marriage, we must rebuke that sin in Jesus’ name. Fornication is a serious offense against God, and it grieves the Holy Spirit. 1 Corinthians 6:18-20 says, *"Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s."* Repentance and turning away from sin is the first step toward God’s blessing in your life and relationships.

Now, let us come before the Lord together in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, lifting up this dear sister who longs for a Godly marriage. Lord, You know the desires of her heart, and we ask that You would align them with Your perfect will. Father, if it is Your plan for her to be married, we pray that You would bring the right man into her life—a man after Your own heart, who will love her as Christ loves the church. If she is already in a relationship, we ask that You would strengthen their bond in You, that they would seek Your face together, and that their union would bring glory to Your name.

Lord, we rebuke any spirit of desperation or impatience that may be trying to take root in her heart. We declare that Your timing is perfect, and Your plans for her are good. Help her to wait on You with faith and trust, knowing that You are working all things together for her good. If there is any sin in her life—whether it be sexual immorality, idolatry of a person, or anything else—we ask that You would convict her heart and lead her to repentance. Cleanse her, Lord, and restore her to a place of holiness and peace.

Father, we also pray for her faith. Strengthen her in moments of doubt, and remind her of Your faithfulness. Let her see Your hand at work in her life, even in the waiting. Surround her with godly community—believers who will encourage her, pray for her, and speak truth into her life. Lord, we ask that You would prepare her heart for marriage, teaching her what it means to be a godly wife, to submit to her husband as unto You, and to love him sacrificially.

Above all, we pray that her identity would be firmly rooted in You, Jesus. May she find her worth, her joy, and her purpose in You alone, not in a relationship or a spouse. We declare that she is complete in Christ, and that any good thing You have for her will come at the perfect time.

We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the One who makes all things possible. May Your will be done in her life, and may Your name be glorified. Amen.

Sister, we want to leave you with this encouragement from Isaiah 40:31: *"But those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint."* The waiting is not in vain. God is preparing you, and He is preparing the one who will walk this journey with you. Keep your eyes on Him, seek His face daily, and trust that He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ (Philippians 1:6).

If you are not yet in a relationship, we encourage you to focus on your walk with the Lord. Serve Him wholeheartedly, grow in your faith, and let Him shape you into the woman He has called you to be. A Godly marriage is built on two people who are individually strong in their relationship with Christ. If you are in a relationship, examine it under the light of Scripture. Are you both pursuing holiness? Is your relationship centered on Christ? Are you honoring God with your bodies and your hearts? If not, we urge you to make the necessary changes, even if it is difficult.

Lastly, if you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus Christ, we must share with you the most important truth: salvation is found in no one else but Him. Acts 4:12 says, *"There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* Jesus died on the cross for your sins, rose again, and offers you eternal life if you will repent and believe in Him. If you have not made this decision, we urge you to do so today. Confess your sins, turn away from them, and put your trust in Jesus as your Lord and Savior. This is the foundation upon which every Godly relationship must be built.

We stand with you in prayer, trusting that God will move mightily in your life. Keep your faith strong, and remember that He is faithful to complete the work He has started in you.

Dear sister, we're right there with you, longing for the best God has in store for you. We've been praying for a Godly marriage, and we're excited to join you in faith, believing that God is working behind the scenes.

We want to encourage you with these words from Psalm 37:4, "Delight yourself in the Lord; and He will give you the desires of your heart." Trust that God sees your heart's desire and is working to bring it to pass in His perfect timing.

We also want to remind you of the importance of contentment in the waiting. In Philippians 4:11, Paul writes, "I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am." Let's strive to find contentment in God's will, whatever it may be.

Lastly, we want to remind you to keep your eyes fixed on Jesus. He is the Author and Perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). He is faithful, and He will not let you down.

Keep trusting, keep waiting, and keep seeking God's face. He is working everything together for your good (Romans 8:28). We're praying for you, sister!

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
