Gone, Gone For Ever
You are called to serve God with your life, and every missed chance to honor Him is lost forever.
We hear the anxiety in your heart as you send this mail and we join with you in bringing it before the Lord together in Jesus' name.

We understand the desire for things to go smoothly and for no difficult questions to come back, and we want to encourage you to commit this matter fully to God and to trust Him with the outcome. We are reminded in Philippians 4:6-7 not to be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, to let our requests be made known to God, and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard our hearts and our thoughts in Christ Jesus. Also Proverbs 16:3 tells us to commit our deeds to Yahweh, and our plans shall succeed.

We also want to gently encourage you to examine your heart about this mail. If the desire for no questions comes from a fear of being found out or a temptation to hide the truth or leave out important information, we must remember that God calls us to honesty and integrity in all our communication. Colossians 3:9 says do not lie to one another, and Ephesians 4:25 says therefore putting away falsehood, speak truth each one with his neighbor. A mail that is clear, truthful, and complete is honoring to God and is more likely to be received without confusion. If there are questions that do come back, we can trust that God can use even those for good and to work out His will.

We notice you addressed your prayer to God, but did not mention Jesus Christ. We want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. Jesus Himself said in John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 declares there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. To come to God we must believe that Jesus is the Son of God, that He died for our sins and rose again, and we must put our trust in Him alone. We encourage you to call upon the name of Jesus as you pray.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we lift up this dear one to You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. You know this mail that is being sent, You know every word in it and every concern in this heart. We ask that You would give clarity and wisdom in this communication, that it would be truthful and honoring to You, and that You would grant favor with those who receive it. We pray that if it is Your will, You would grant that it be received with understanding and without unnecessary questions or trouble. But above all we pray for Your will to be done, and for peace to guard this heart no matter what response comes. Help this one to trust You with the outcome and not to be ruled by fear or anxiety. Lead this one to walk in truth and integrity, knowing that You see all things and You reward faithfulness. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.

We encourage you to rest in the Lord after you send this mail. Do your part with excellence and honesty, pray and then leave the result in His hands. 1 John 5:14 reminds us that if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us. Trust that whether questions come or not, God is with you and will give you the words and wisdom to respond.

We heard the worry in your short note, wanting to send this email and hoping with all your heart that no questions come back. That kind of waiting can keep your mind racing, and we are glad you brought it to God so honestly.

We don't know the details behind the email, but we hear how much you want peace and a clean outcome without more complications. It is understandable to feel on edge when you cannot control how someone else will respond.

If you have not yet sent it, one simple step that can help is to pause and read it once more slowly when you are calm, or if appropriate have a trusted mature believer glance at it, just to be sure it says clearly and kindly what you mean to say. Then entrust the outcome to the Lord and give yourself permission to step away from checking for a reply over and over. If it is already sent, it can help to have a small plan for the waiting, staying with your normal responsibilities and bringing the worry back to prayer each time it rises.

We are praying with you for steadiness and wisdom and for God to guide what happens next.

Father, we lift this person and this email to You. You see the anxiety and the longing for peace. Quiet their heart, grant clear thinking, and help them rest in Your care while they wait. Guide the next steps according to Your will. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your anxious words concerning this mail have been heard, and the desire of your heart not to be troubled by further questioning is understood before the Lord.

There is a kind of peace which comes from merely avoiding trouble, and Scripture warns us that such peace is thin and deceptive, like a crust of ice hardly strong enough to bear a fly. It may quiet us for an hour, but it cannot keep the heart and mind. There is another peace, a perfect peace, which is promised to the mind that is stayed upon God, and a joy and peace that come not by our own contriving but in believing.

If this mail you must send is a matter of duty, commit it to the Lord in prayer and do it with plain honesty and love. The fear which makes us shrink from questions can be brought to Him who hears prayer. The Scripture teaches that the fear of the Lord is not a dread that drives us to hide, but a holy reverence that leads us to confess, to pray, and to obey. To know the will of Jesus and to do it, this is rest even when duties press and hearts are anxious.

Do not seek a peace that rests upon silence from others. Seek that peace which quiets the conscience through trust in the blood and righteousness of Jesus Christ. Faith is a simple trust in Him, and through that faith God fills the heart with a well founded peace that meets every need, even the anxiety over family, work, and daily dealings. All things work together for good to them that love God, and He will put strength in you as you wait upon Him.

I pray that the Lord will give you wisdom to write what is true and needful, courage to commit the outcome to His hands, and that perfect peace within which the blood of Jesus whispers to the believing soul. If questions do come, may you be given grace to answer with gentleness and truth, and if they do not, may your quiet be not from avoidance but from trusting Him who keeps in perfect peace those whose minds are stayed on Him.

May you look to Christ alone for pardon and acceptance, and find in Him the refuge from all fear, and the strength to do what is right in His sight.
