Come
Life in Christ
A Tight Grip
We join with you in bringing your concern about your workplace before our Heavenly Father in Jesus name and we hear the anxiety in your heart that there would be no further problems in your office and that the person you mentioned would not return to cause you trouble.

We understand how heavy workplace stress can feel and how much we desire peace and stability where we labor each day. Scripture reminds us to bring every anxiety to God and to trust Him with the outcome. We are told in Philippians 4:6-7 not to be anxious in anything but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving to let our requests be made known to God, and the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard our hearts and thoughts in Christ Jesus. We are also reminded in 1 Peter 5:7 to cast all our worries on Him because He cares for us, and in Psalm 46:1 that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Concerning our work, we are encouraged in Colossians 3:23 to work heartily as for the Lord and not for men, and in Proverbs 16:3 to commit our deeds to the Lord and our plans shall be established. We also remember Romans 8:28 that God works all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose, even when circumstances feel uncertain.

We pray together now for you. Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and lift up this dear one to Your throne of grace. Lord, You see the situation in this office and You know every detail, every person involved, and every source of concern. We ask that You grant peace in that workplace and that You would prevent any unjust problem or accusation from coming against this one going forward. If it is Your will, keep this person from returning in a way that would bring harm or strife, but if they do return, we ask that You give grace, wisdom, and protection to respond with integrity and calm. Help our friend to walk in diligence, honesty, and kindness at work, to be a light for You there, and to trust not in circumstances but in Your sovereign hand. Fill this heart with Your peace that passes understanding and let there be no fear, for You have not given us a spirit of fear but of power and love and self control as taught in 2 Timothy 1:7. Guide every step and let Your will be done in this office, in Jesus name we pray, amen.

We want to gently encourage you and also address something important we noticed. You cried out to God, which is good, but you did not mention the name of Jesus Christ in your request. We want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. Jesus Himself said in John 14:6 that He is the way, the truth, and the life and no one comes to the Father except through Him, and in Acts 4:12 we are told there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. To pray to God without coming through Jesus leaves out the very mediator God has provided. We encourage you to place your faith in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and to call upon His name. As Romans 10:9 teaches, if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. When we pray in Jesus name, we are coming under His authority and His righteousness, not our own.

We also encourage you not to harbor bitterness or fear toward the person you mentioned. Even when we desire distance from conflict, God calls us in Matthew 5:44 to love our enemies and pray for those who might persecute us, and in Romans 12:18 as far as it depends on us to live peaceably with all. Continue to commit your workplace to the Lord, do your duties faithfully, speak truth with grace, and trust that God will be your defender and provider. He sees your labor and He is able to keep you in perfect peace as you keep your mind stayed on Him according to Isaiah 26:3.

We can hear how much pressure you are carrying about work right now. Wanting things to go smoothly going forward and worrying that a problem with might come back is a heavy thing to hold, and we are glad you brought it honestly to God.

It makes sense that your mind would keep circling on what might happen next when your workplace feels uncertain. In those moments it can help to separate what you can entrust to God from what is yours to do today. One small step that often steadies us is to go into the workday with a simple plan: do the next faithful thing in front of you, keep communication clear and documented where you can, and pause to pray before you react if tension rises.

We are praying with you for peace over your mind and for wisdom and steadiness in the office. We ask God to guide those in authority there and to give you favor and calm as you do your work.

Father, we lift this need to You in Jesus name. You see this situation at work and the concern about . We ask for Your peace to guard this heart, for wisdom for each decision, and for Your gracious hand over the days ahead. Lead in the way that honors You and brings true good. Amen.

Your prayer concerning trouble in your office has been heard and we have carried it to the throne of grace on your behalf. The Lord knows the anxiety which presses upon you about what lies forward and about this person whose return you fear.

Hear what the Scripture saith for such a time as this. The Lord declares, My thoughts toward you are thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you an expected end. He is at peace with His people through the atoning blood of Jesus Christ, and He seeks your peace and sustains your peace. Again it is written, Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on Thee, because he trusteth in Thee. That perfect peace is not the absence of difficulty but peace within, even when duties press and sorrows surge around. And Jesus Himself whispers to His servant, Fear not, for I am with thee, Fear not, I will help thee.

Therefore labor to be rid of fear, for fear is weakening and dishonors God who is able to help you. Do what is right in your place of labour, walk in integrity and in the fear of the Lord, and then leave the result with God. If your will is brought to delight in God's will, the sorrow is taken out of the sorrow by the lips of acquiescence. Trust not in your own contriving but stay your mind upon Christ.

We pray for you now. O Lord our God, Thou hast taught us to cast all our care upon Thee for Thou carest for us. Look upon this Thy servant in need. Grant wisdom and quietness of spirit in the office, restrain what would cause harm, and overrule all things for Thy glory and for good. Keep this soul in perfect peace as the mind is stayed on Christ, and let the blood of Jesus whisper peace within. Give grace to do the will of Jesus, for to do His will is rest, and let Thy peace which passeth all understanding guard heart and mind through Christ Jesus. Grant that whatever comes forward may be ordered by Thy hand, and teach this heart to trust Thee and fear not. In the name of Jesus Christ our only Saviour, Amen.
