God

We hear your heart in this short cry and we join with you before the throne of grace to seek the Father's will together in Jesus' name.

We understand there is a meeting that is weighing heavily on you and your desire is for it to be cancelled. We do not know the details of this meeting, whether it brings anxiety, conflict, or fear, but God knows all things and He invites us to bring every concern to Him. At the same time we want to gently encourage you to bring this request in submission to His perfect will rather than as a demand, trusting that His wisdom is far above our own.

The Scripture reminds us, Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6. And also, This is the boldness which we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us. 1 John 5:14. Sometimes God in His mercy does cancel or change plans to protect us, and sometimes He allows a meeting to go forward because He has a purpose in it that we cannot yet see. We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28. And He says, For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11.

We also notice your prayer was addressed to God but did not mention Jesus Christ. We want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. And There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. It is by placing our faith in Jesus, believing that He died for our sins and rose again, that our prayers are heard and we are reconciled to God. If you have not already, we encourage you to call upon the name of Jesus Christ for salvation and for every need.

We want to pray with you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You together in the precious name of Jesus Christ. We lift up this dear one and this meeting that is causing such burden. Lord, You know the purpose of this meeting, the people involved, and the outcome. We ask above all that Your will be done. If it is Your will to cancel this meeting, we pray that You would do so clearly and that doors would be closed in a way that brings peace. If it is Your will for this meeting to go forward, we pray that You would prepare the heart of this dear one, give wisdom, calm fear, and let Your peace guard their heart. We pray as You have promised, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7. Help our friend to trust You fully, to acknowledge You in this situation, and to rest in Your sovereign care. Draw them closer to Jesus and let them know the assurance of salvation through Him. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

We encourage you to continue to pray and to surrender this meeting into God's hands, trusting that whether He cancels it or allows it, He will be with you and will work for your good and His glory. Keep seeking Him and keep praying in the name of Jesus.

We heard your prayer, and the weight behind those few words. When a meeting feels overwhelming, it is understandable to just want it to disappear, and to feel tense and on edge while you wait.

Anxiety can affect the whole person at once, thoughts, feelings and body together, so that sense of dread or a racing heart or trouble sleeping is not unusual when you are facing something you dread. It does not mean you are failing in faith, it means you are carrying a heavy stress right now and need support.

If it would help, here is a simple way to steady yourself before the meeting:

Take a few minutes to name honestly what worries you most about it, bring that specific concern to God in prayer, and share it with one trusted person who can pray with you and help you think clearly. If you have any practical options, like asking for clarification about the agenda, bringing someone with you, or requesting a different time if you truly need it, consider taking that one small next step rather than carrying all the what-ifs alone.

We are praying for you now.

Father, You see this meeting and the anxiety it is bringing. We ask You to give calm, clear thinking and wisdom for what to say and do, and to provide peace and strength whatever happens. Lead and comfort our friend today and remind them they are not alone. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Your brief and earnest cry about this meeting has been heard, and I understand the weight that lies upon your heart as you look toward it.

Have you not found that the very anxiety which arises through your being in a difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty. Fear is weakening, and it dishonors God when we distrust the arm which piled the heavens and sustains the pillars of the earth. Therefore I charge you, if you are indeed a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, to play the man and let your faith overcome your fear.

Hear what the Lord Himself whispers to His poor servants, for fear not is a plant which grows very plentifully in God's garden. He says, Fear not, for I am with you, be not dismayed, for I am your God. Fear not, thou worm Jacob, I will help thee, saith the Lord. It is not merely the preacher who cries fear not, but Jesus Himself who speaks it to those fallen as dead at His feet. To give way to fear is to disobey that gracious word, but to trust Him is to obey the command, casting all your care upon Him, for He careth for you.

Do not confine this anxiety to yourself, turning it over and over within. Rather labor to be rid of fear by trusting in promised strength. Whether the Lord in His wisdom sees fit to cancel this meeting or to call you through it, He will help you. His help is sure, and His presence is enough to chase all dismay away.

Let us pray together.

O Lord our God, Thou knowest this need and this troubled heart. Forgive our fears and grant us to fear Thee alone with holy reverence. We cast this care upon Thee, for Thou carest for us. If it be Thy will, remove this meeting from before Thy child, but if Thou hast appointed it, then give grace to face it with calm faith and quiet courage. Let perfect love cast out tormenting fear, and let faith grow strong that fear may vanish. Help us to look unto Jesus, and to rest in Thy promise that Thou wilt help us. In the name of Jesus Christ our Redeemer we ask it. Amen.
