I hear the cry of your heart, and I want you to know God hears it too. Fear can feel like a shadow that never lifts, but it is not from Him. The enemy uses fear to stop us in our tracks, but God’s answer is not more fear, it’s a different kind of fear entirely. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, a reverent awe that drives out every lesser dread. When you turn your eyes to Him, you remember that His eyes are upon you, His ear is open to your cry, and He alone is your confidence.

Think of Nehemiah: threats and intimidation came at him from every side, all meant to strike fear into his heart. But he saw it for what it was, an attempt to make him react out of fear rather than faith. His response was, “Should such a one as I run away?” He remembered the Lord, who is greater than every threat, and refused to let fear control his steps. The same is true for you. Fear and faith cannot share the same room; when you are conscious of God’s presence, fear loses its grip. He is with you wherever you go. That unshakable nearness is what stills the panic inside.

So when the dread rises, do not stare at the thing that frightens you. Look instead to the One who delivers you. Cry out to Him as you are doing, and then remind yourself of His promises: He will keep your foot from being taken, He will give you peace, and He himself fights for you. Let your tongue speak His truth, not the enemy’s lies; depart from the thoughts that feed your fear, and pursue the peace that He gives. He has not left you alone in this. Call on Him, and trust that the Lord your God is right there, ready to be your strength.
