God, why didn't you stop my heart permanently today when I felt flutters and I begged you to take me? Please please PLEASE take me.

Beloved of All
Or a fatal stroke. Or a fatal hemorrhage. Or a fatal something that will not take others with me.

Seriously, I want out. No reason to stay. Why torture me? Are you enjoying watching me suffer?

I have been begging for SO LONG.

We hear the depth of your pain, and our hearts ache with you in this moment of despair. The weight you carry must feel unbearable, and we want you to know that you are not alone—even when it feels like darkness is all there is. Your cry is not falling on deaf ears, though it may feel that way right now. The Lord hears you, and He collects every one of your tears (Psalm 56:8). He does not delight in your suffering, nor does He take pleasure in your pain. The Bible tells us that He is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). This is not the end of your story, though it may feel like it in this moment.

We must rebuke the lie that God is enjoying your suffering or that He has abandoned you. Scripture is clear that God is love (1 John 4:8), and His heart breaks with yours. The enemy, however, seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), and he would love nothing more than for you to believe that God is indifferent or cruel. But that is not the truth. Jesus came so that you might have life, and have it abundantly—even in the midst of pain. He weeps with you now, just as He wept with Mary and Martha at the death of their brother Lazarus (John 11:35). Your pain matters to Him.

We also must address the depth of your desire to end your life. The Lord is the giver of life, and He alone has the authority to determine when it begins and ends (Deuteronomy 32:39). To take your own life or to beg for death in this way is to step outside of His will and into a place of despair that the enemy would love to keep you in. We do not say this to shame you but to remind you that your life has purpose, even when you cannot see it. You are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and God has plans for you—plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). Those plans may be hidden from you now, but they are not gone.

We urge you to reach out to someone you trust—a pastor, a counselor, a friend, or a family member—and share the weight of what you’re carrying. You were not meant to carry this alone. The body of Christ is called to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2), and there are people who will walk with you through this if you let them. If you do not have someone in your life right now, we encourage you to call a crisis hotline or seek professional help immediately. Your life is precious, and there are people who want to help you see that.

We also want to gently ask: Have you placed your trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior? The pain you’re experiencing is very real, but so is the hope that comes from knowing Him. Jesus said, “Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). He is the only one who can carry the weight of your despair and replace it with peace that surpasses understanding (Philippians 4:7). If you have not surrendered your life to Him, we pray that you would consider doing so today. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father (John 14:6).

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious soul who is crying out in pain. Lord, You see the depth of their suffering, and You collect every tear they have shed. We ask that You would draw near to them in this moment, wrapping them in Your love and reminding them that they are not alone. Father, we rebuke the lies of the enemy that tell them You do not care or that their life has no purpose. We declare that You are a God of compassion and mercy, and that You long to heal their broken heart.

Lord, we ask that You would break the spirit of despair that has taken hold of them. Replace their hopelessness with Your peace, and remind them that their life has value and meaning. Surround them with people who will love and support them, and give them the courage to reach out for help. Father, if they do not know You as their Savior, we pray that You would reveal Yourself to them in a powerful way. Let them experience Your love and grace, and lead them to the foot of the cross where they can find true rest.

We ask that You would protect their mind and heart from the enemy’s attacks, and that You would fill them with Your Holy Spirit. Give them the strength to endure this season of pain, and remind them that joy comes in the morning (Psalm 30:5). Lord, we trust You to work all things together for their good (Romans 8:28), even when they cannot see how that is possible. We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the only name by which we can be saved. Amen.

Please know that we are standing with you in this battle, and we will continue to pray for you. You are not forgotten, and your life matters more than you may realize. If you are open to it, we would encourage you to read the book of Psalms, particularly the psalms of lament like Psalm 13, Psalm 22, or Psalm 88. These psalms give voice to the deepest pains of the human heart, and they remind us that it is okay to bring our raw, unfiltered emotions before the Lord. He can handle your anger, your despair, and your questions. He invites you to cast all your anxieties on Him because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7).

If you are feeling overwhelmed, we would also encourage you to take one step at a time. Focus on the next five minutes, the next hour, or the next day. You do not have to have all the answers right now. God is with you in each moment, and He will give you the strength you need for today (Matthew 6:34). You are loved more than you know, and we are praying that you would experience that love in a tangible way.

We're here with you, friend. We can't imagine the weight you're carrying, but we want you to know that you're not alone. God sees you, He hears you, and He's right there with you in your pain. It's okay to feel overwhelmed, to question, to even be angry. God can handle it all. He's not enjoying your suffering, He's weeping with you. Remember, even in the darkest night, the sun will rise again. You're precious, and your life has a purpose. Let's take this one step at a time together, shall we? We're praying for you, and we're here if you need to talk.

I'd prefer to go in my sleep but: One of my parents died suddenly of a massive heart attack and I am WAY older than that parent was when they died. Why can't I go like that? Worse comes to worse, I can hope I get cancer again. Being told I have ### months to live would be a light at the end of a very dark tunnel.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want you to know how deeply we have carried your cry to the throne of grace these past days. Your words broke our hearts, and we have wept alongside you, lifting up the anguish of your soul before our Heavenly Father. We prayed not only for the physical heaviness you described—those terrifying flutters, the desperate longing for release—but also for the spiritual battle raging within you. We asked God to wrap His arms around you in the darkness, to remind you that even in your deepest despair, you are seen, known, and fiercely loved by Him.

We petitioned the Lord to send His peace to guard your heart and mind, to silence the lies that whisper there is no reason to stay, and to reveal the threads of purpose He is still weaving, even when they feel invisible. We asked Him to surround you with people who can walk with you, who can bear your burdens when your strength feels gone. And we prayed for His mercy—for tangible relief, for moments of light in the heaviness, for the kind of hope that doesn’t dismiss your pain but meets you in it.

If, in these days, you have sensed even the faintest whisper of His presence, or if something—no matter how small—has shifted in your spirit, we would be so grateful to hear it. Your story is not over, and neither is our commitment to stand with you in prayer. But if the weight still feels unbearable, if the silence from Heaven feels louder than ever, please do not carry it alone. Post your request again. Let us continue to intercede for you, to beg God for breakthrough, for comfort, for the kind of grace that meets us in the depths.

You are not forgotten. You are not abandoned. And we will not stop praying for you until the light of Christ pierces the darkness you are walking through. May He draw near to you in ways you can feel, and may His love be the anchor that holds you fast. In Jesus’ Name.
